We dined at the Wolfeboro Inn Cafe on Christmas day since we were traveling and were thrilled to find a place open. But even better was the service and the food we experienced. The manager Sean suggested the Orange Graham French toast and it was delicious. My husband loved his Monte Cristo- In addition to the wonderful food and excellent service we felt welcomed and really enjoyed our time meeting Sean . Highly recommend this place!
Been going to this tavern for years. Unfortunately the last few times have been disappointing but our visit last night was exceptional. The food was fantastic, the general manager was a true hospitality professional. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Stopped coming here 10 years ago due to very poor service. I used to attribute it to the crowd they always had. Not much has changed except the size of the crowd. Place was empty when everything else in town was booked. Besides very slow service, thier menu leaves a lot to be desired...like options. They have exactly six entries, two haddock, one Mac & cheese, fish & chips, broccoli Alfredo and a steak tips. I would have thought the service would have been better since we could only see two other tables with people.
I made a reservation on Open Table via their website. We arrived 5 mins before our reservation time and was told unapologetically by the hostess that they couldn't take us . At first I thought she was joking because I could see my reservation on their computer screen and the restaruant was less than 1/3 full. I asked to speak to the manager. Several minutes later the manager came to the entrance where we were waiting and told us the same thing. After I pushed back, she said they only had one line cook and if we wanted, we could sit and have a couple of drinks and eventually we would be served but we would have to be patient. This was the evening before July 4th in a resort town at a restaurant with a large hotel. All other restaurants in town had over an hour and half wait so we went to the grocery store and purchased food to make at home. Very disappointing. Ive eaten at this restaurant several times over several years. It is definitely going downhill.

They are going through changes that are for the better. The new menu is great, it has something for everyone. The asparagus fries are a must. The build your own burger is top notch, the baked haddock is amazing, and their take on a Reuben is amazing by using phylo dough instead of rye bread and takes it to a whole new level. All of the other offerings are equally amazing and highly recommended. They are making strides to be the place to be. Check it out!

Food was acceptable but not cooked to order. Smash burgers were overcooked and French fries were only warm. A request for additional condiments for the fries had to be made at least three times which by the time it arrived made it totally worthless.

This was our first visit to Wolfe's Tavern. It had always gotten mixed reviews but now under new management. The GM, came over and spoke to us and was very encouraging and enthusiastic. Our meal was quite good. I enjoyed my grilled cheese, my son loved his burger with pulled pork, and my husband liked his Ruben special. We look forward to returning and seeing the renovations.
Very quaint dining inn. Food was delicious and hearty. Prices are competitive. I had the Smokey burger. Wow!!! Great burger with pulled pork and bacon. Very good!! Def will be back.
