The header of this review should be ‘WOW, just wow.!’ This is one of the top five meals I’ve had in my life - and we’ve travelled extensively and lived in New York City so there’s a lot of competition for that rating. The food was absolutely world-class, I had a steak dish that was an explosion of flavors and textures. Just exquisite and perfectly executed. The portions aren’t huge, but just enough. It also isn’t cheap, but for the quality of the food (and the excellent service), worth every penny. We were blown away…. Next time, it will be the Chef’s Tasting Menu.

The food was a hit or complete miss. Be mindful of what you order and what week you attend. I think we may have went on an off week, as the servers and chefs rotate weekly between serving and cooking. Which we were not aware of when we made the reservation. The service was extremely slow. We were there for 3 hours, which wasn’t what we all planned for. They give you a full breakdown of each plate every time they set a plate on the table, which feels a bit overwhelming. Be mindful the paella isn’t traditional paella it has a burnt bottom and an interesting mix of different toppings you can pick from. The menu is fixed, you select 1 item from each section per person. For the price you pay, the service you receive, and the food, in my opinion not worth it. Take yourself somewhere in the city instead.

Service and food was terrible; Three and half hours to complete the meal.
Do not go if you’re hungry and want to be ill!

Charged $30 for an entree that we did not order as additional ; make sure you cross check your bill.

Obnoxiously loud

Mushroom paella was just a pile of mushrooms with basically no rice .

When the manager asked me, If everything was okay and I informed no , he did not seem to care . He deflected back and said I am sure the server explained the meals to you.
In other telling me that I was stupid .
I said that I would never return with a bill of $300 for four , getting sick and the others feeling hungry , poor service , very loud ambiance .

A terrible dining experience !!

Absolutely blown away by the experience we had at Lita.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary, did the 5-course chef’s table.

Food = Unbelievable.

Staff = Friendliest people in the world. Made the experience an 11 out of 10. Literally everyone from hostesses, chefs/servers, and the owners spent time with us.

Vibes = Unmatched.

Go here. Do the chef’s table. Have the best time.

We’re still smiling 24 hours later. Thank you for the perfect meal.

First and foremost, this is not a restaurant. This is a bar with a cool open kitchen and overpriced bar food. The portions are tapas like and similar to what you’ll find in Spain and southern Portugal. I really wanted to love this place as I was getting tired of the same old Portuguese fair of Newark and Elizabeth and have been waiting for fresh blood to take over and give new life to New Jersey’s Portuguese cuisine. This spot made the attempt but unfortunately I feel sold out to the fedora wearing hipsters and rich wasps of the area. The food yes is and was traditional but none of it had soul or gave you an experience that the decor and price you think would give you. It’s ok and there’s nothing wrong with ok.

Ps : allot of people were hating on the paella it was actually one of the most authentic ones I’ve had in the states

Delicious food and cocktails. Love the vibes here and the staff is very friendly. Would prob only come back for drinks due to limited vegetarian food options. Got this chai brûlée espresso martini and the baked madeira dessert on a whim - 10/10 would recommend.

Lita is where you want to be! You just don’t know it yet.The Chef’s tasting menu with a trip around Iberia’s vineyards is a must. You will really see, hear, smell, and feel each dish. While paired with the perfect explanation of notes in your glass. The rotating staff seem to love what they do and it shows.Shout out to everyone behind the counter!! Truly one of my favorite dining experiences.Thank you Chef’s and thank you Lita!

Outstanding experience all the way through. We initially had a reservation for two and their staff was able to accommodate four with a week's notice when friends wanted to join. The wait staff was friendly, informative and attentive. Drinks were delicious and timely. We got a paella to share with our table and ultimately had more food than we could eat. We'll definitely return!

Such a cool vibe for drinks in the speakeasy before dinner. Crafted cocktails were delicious!
