Mattar's is a beautiful place to dine in Hackettstown. My friend had salmon and I had the shrimp, scallops and risotto which was superb! Service was excellent and we even got to meet Mr. Mattar. This was my fifth time coming here and every time I have been completely satisfied. We even shared a piece of carrot cake and the next time we go we are hoping that cheesecake is on the menu.
I was at a private event, downstairs. It was served buffet-style. Penne, chicken francaise, a shrimp dish, and a beef tenderloin teriyaki style, roasted potatoes and broccoli. The food was spectacular, and the staff was very professional and accommodating. Except for the broccoli (which i refuse to interest on religious grounds) every dish was wonderful! I only wish i could order this off the regular menu! Go! Enjoy! You won't be disappointed!

I decided to bring a group of friends who had never been here before. There was a group of 6 at the table.
Service was excellent as usual but for some reason food was not good
2 of us ordered the fillet mignon. One was supposed to be cooked medium rare and the other medium.
Well the medium was well done and medium rare was barely medium.
Very disappointed for the price of...
