The legendary Kiku Alpine STILL lives up to its name. Today's visit was a gentle reminder why I prefer the original Alpine over the secondary Paramus. To some, they might be the "same thing," but no, they're not. The atmosphere, the food, and the service are all way better in Alpine, as if the staff are being properly watched over by the responsible manager. Since the early 90s (my first visit), the food's been great, portions are generous, and the shows are always impressive.
Kiku had been one of my favorite, and it's now one of my children's favorite places to eat out.
Paramus left me with bitter taste several times over the years, including messing up the reservation TWICE and making me wait for over 45 minutes, saying that my table is being setup, until they admitted that they had messed up my reservation. Both times, I ended up going to Alpine and was served right. Weird, because I'm by biased, but things just worked out the way it did.

Dated. Past its prime. Nice chefs, food is mediocre. But overall a good experience.

They kicked us out after less than an hour!!!!! Unconscionable. All because several of their hibachi tables weren’t working properly

Overall it was good. The sushi tasted great and the service was friendly. But I can't recommend the noodles.

We have been going there for more than 25years. They have a winning formula and has not changed.

Very good atmosphere. It feels like a high class restaurant. Though, food list was limited. Food did not taste good at all. Will never go there again.

Excellent food and service. Fun atmosphere. The elevator must be fixed so elderly people do not have to walk down many stairs. Otherwise, it's a great place.

Everything was great except service. Walked in got sat immediately. Nobody came to at least ask our drink order or give us water. It was another 20 minutes before we saw someone. The family sitting at my table went and served their OWN glasses of water and Kiku staff NEVER even noticed this. Restaurant was empty as it was still early before dinner rush. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me.After 20 minutes and literally chasing down somebody to come to our table (thank you to the gentleman dining at our table for chasing an employee down… I was hangry) someone finally came to take our order. It was another 10 minutes before we saw our drinks AFTER we ordered.Food was good. Our chef was funny. Only problem with the food. WAY. TOO. MUCH. GARLIC. ON. EVERYTHING! Over 24 hours later, still burping up garlic and my stomach is bothering me. Not everything needs garlic.Service needs MASSIVE improvement

It's been awhile since I've had a bad experience dining out. Food was missing that never came out. The food on a whole was very bland and subpar for the price. I've had better hibachi. The icing on the night was being interrupted in the middle of a conversation to be told to hurry up and leave because they need the table. Paying for apps, drinks and entrees for a party of 10 but can't even be given the decency of moving at our own pace to leave. Coats and hats were on but apparently we weren't moving fast enough. Never coming back here, would not recommend, an awful encounter altogether.

The chef was good and friendly. My steak was more well done and i ordered it medium rare, but the flavor was still good and wasnt too tough. The soup was warm at best. The service itself was bad. I only got asked once in the 2 hours if i wanted anything else to drink besides my beer. The main hostess guy who set up the tables/seated everyone was far from pleasant. We made reservations for 11 people. He told us we were only getting one chef but needed to sit at 2 separate hibachi tables. So a group of us got to watch the guy cook from the other side of the table. When we asked the hostess he said that the other grill didnt work and he had nowhere else to put us. Meanwhile there were 2 more grill/tables behind us that were empty the whole time. He was overall just unpleasant, unwilling to work with us. The bar service was awful. One bartender who had to walk up to the front desk to get change every time someone paid. Of course we had an automatic 20% tip added onto the bill too. I wont be back
