Absolutely terrible experience. We called ahead and were told it would be a 20-minute wait — it turned into two full hours. When we finally sat down, they put us at a hibachi table that didn’t even work, then moved us again, and we just sat there with no service. There was zero urgency, zero apology, and no sense that anyone cared. When a waitress finally showed up, she told us there was no sushi. After wasting that much time, we walked out completely frustrated. Hands down one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Go elsewhere. Anywhere but here.

Kiku Alpine is outstanding! A spacious, local gem with high quality, fresh food. Hibachi chef Christian delivers a great table side performance — neat, quick, and very personable. Truly delicious!
Been going here for YEARS. Get the shrimp hibachi. Fantastic vibes, love it.

Never get the chicken here. 5 ounces for $28. Also if you ask to sub vegatables for rice they will charge you an extra $5 without telling you which makes no sense. They get 2 stars because the food is tasty, but doesn’t make sense to be paying more than Manhattan prices for hibachi all the way in New Jersey..
Absolutely worst place!! Save your money & go elsewhere because you won’t even be able to sit most of the time! They treat you like you’re bothering them when you walk in to ask for a table. Came there with my son and they shot me away saying they couldn’t seat me, it was too late. It was 8:00PM mind you they close at 10!! Horrible horrible will never be back again
If you enjoy Hibachi, you may like this place. But when we visited, according to reviews, we found the meat quality and rice not up to our standards. And also the sushi chef have had resigned, so we didn’t have too many choices but only hibachi.
The cocktails were so cheap, and worst cocktails we ever had in past year. Terrible Mai Thai too, so I had to switch to bottle of beer. Do we go back? Sincerely no.

I would like to preface this review by saying i think hibachi is a dead culture at this point and i blame covid. I was a lover of another very popular very beautiful hibachi restaurant (no need to name names but its the one on the mountain) and after covid it just hasnt felt the same so I went looking for another place to try. Read online kiku was the place to be and specifically the Alpine location. The place itself was beautiful, I can't imagine what it used to be. Must've been THE place to be. I am sad to have discovered so late.
All that said, my experience was disappointing. Servers were very nice, staff was helpful and kind but the food was bland as bland can be. Everything took forever and apps came cold. Some things are understandable but eating fried food cold truly murders one's appetite. This place, back in its day (probably like up until like 5 yrs ago), was probably spectacular, which is honestly why i can't even blame the business for things not meeting expectations. Things are changing, people are changing, needs are changing, and sadly, hibachi is now a thing of the past. It was fun while it lasted.

There were 10 of us, 8 got hibachi. 2 GF 1 got sushi, the other got a steak and brought her own GF soy sauce . Both enjoyed theres. For the other 8 all enjoyed the chef and his antics, the food was good value for the amount but was a lil lacking in flavor. Mostly just the teriyaki sauce overpowered the chicken,/steak and shrimp. Was good not great.

There are better options in the area for hibachi. We had to write our own drink orders because the waiter couldn't understand. None of our children's appetizers were brought out, when we complained to the manager nothing was done. Not a round of drinks comped or even an apology. I will not spend my hard-earned money at this place ever again. Mistakes happen l, how they handle them when it was brought to their attention was appalling.

The food was great but service was terrible. We waited nearly an hour for beverages and even longer for food. Then, the staff placed clean plates at the table, ushering us to leave despite there being other clean tables available.

Awful experience - were told to sit at the bar and ordered but one thing after another were unwilling to make because were too busy.
Stay away - much better places out there. Never again
