I had tried this place when it first opened and the food is not your typical Jamaican food. It lacks flavor and the jerk chicken is more of a bbq chicken. The rice and peas are decent. But I’ve tried 3 different types of chicken from here (jerk, curry, and brown stew) and none of them compare to other places I have been. With this being said, I believe they also delete bad reviews because when they first opened there were several reviews talking about the customer service and the lack of flavor that are no longer here. I am only seeing 3 low reviews. That is unfair to the customers when you delete reviews and paint a picture that is not true.

The food is incredibly delicious! The jerk chicken is perfectly cooked, the seasoning and sauce are out of this world, and I could eat the rice & peas all day. The plantains are equally amazing, so do yourself a favor and order an extra side of them because you won’t be able to get enough. This place is officially on the top of our takeout rotation.

We love supporting local but I have to comment on the unprofessional of this place. My husband ordered us curry chicken and oxtail platters. The lady told him she had one curry chicken that wasn’t picked up from another customer and offered it to him since it was ready to go. He paid for both platters and then realized the curry chicken platter was cold, he went back and the lady had a bad attitude saying she told him that it was not picked up from another customer. He told her that he understood that but didn’t expect to be served cold food that has been sitting out. She actually argued with him about it before she mad him a hot platter, which still ended up being the wrong order. ( I ordered cabbage and white rice but I got rice and peas and yams). I just wouldn’t expect a place to serve someone cold food that was sitting out. The food ended up being ok. My husband liked his oxtails. My curry chicken was mediocre.

I'm sorry, but unfortunately the food was not good at all. My husband who is Jamaican, was very disappointed in the salmon platter. The oxtail wasn't flavorful to me although tender. Cabbage wasn't good. I always look for good Jamaican restaurants to frequent, but unfortunately I won't be returning. The staff was nice, but that doesn't make up for what you pay.
