So, I came to this place because I saw it on Diners, Drive in and dives which my husband and I basically try to go to places he recommends, first time we went it was to early so we had lunch only, so we travel at least an hr from Jersey City, so I had my Bday weekend in Atlantic City so I needed to stop by first again to try their Octopus an Bone Marrow Burger. With that said, loved the Octupus, the burger was ok but their Chardonnay wine was excellent, I will come back again though, I wish I had remembered my waitress name, she was awesome and hilarious, will definitely come back

Eclectic atmosphere, gluten free menu, but you wouldn't guess. Crazy fresh ingredients making real food with flavor. Wish they had duck breast when we went but we will absolutely go back.

This was brought to our attention from DD&D. Meet freinds that live in NJ there. Simple, airy and upscale County design. Food aws simple but prepared with love. Would love to goback have lunch and explore the neighborhood more.

Dietary restrictions: Very attentive.

Somehow consistently the best Cuban wrap I've ever had.

The octopus is grilled to perfection. We ordered it both times we were there. The duck breast is good, but a tad undercooked, for my preference. The day's swordfish special was tasty.

I recently traveled a considerable distance to dine here, but unfortunately, my experience was far from the culinary adventure I had anticipated. Despite the setting, the food left much to be desired and did not live up to its advertised standards.

To start, I ordered the octopus appetizer. While it was palatable, it was certainly nothing extraordinary. The dish lacked the wow factor I was hoping for and was simply mediocre at best.

The real disappointment, however, came with the main course. I ordered the bison burger, expecting it to be cooked to a perfect medium doneness. What arrived at my table was an overdone burger, dry and tough, making it nearly impossible to eat. This was a glaring error that significantly marred the dining experience.

What added to my dissatisfaction was the lack of acknowledgment from the staff. Despite my obvious disappointment, no apologies or attempts to rectify the situation were offered. This level of customer service was disheartening and left a sour taste in my mouth.

In summary, the Caves’ restaurant's allure is overshadowed by its subpar food and lackluster service. I had high hopes for this dining experience, but after such a disappointing visit, I will not be returning.

We saw Cave on Diners Drive ins and Dives . After the show we read through some of the reviews and decided to try it out.
So glad we did. We arrived a few minutes before they opened for lunch and were invited in with a smile. I had the brisket wrap and my husband had the bison burger with an egg. We drove 40 minutes to get there and we will be doing that again soon. AMAZING food.

Service was top notch. Dealing with celiac, you always have to play 50 questions when dining out. It was great not to have to do that here, and all the food we ordered was delicious. For our friends who were not gluten-free free dependent they couldn't tell the difference.

We had dinner here at 6 pm on a Saturday night. We will never return or recommend this restaurant, and frankly don't understand all the glowing reviews.

The restaurant is relatively small and the tables are nicely spaced apart. However the acoustics are not good, and the restaurant was noisy even though it was only about 3/4 full. The wooden chairs had no cushions and were not comfortable to sit in.

This is gluten free farm to table with some nice selections, but a very limited menu. It's also BYOB.

Service was okay, but there was not sufficient wait time between our soup and salad and the main course. It felt rushed, with dinner coming out about 10 minutes afterwards. Worse, even though my wife has food allergies, the restaurant refused to accommodate them. No substitutions of any kind allowed. All she wanted to do was exchange mashed potatoes for a vegetable, but instead had to order the vegetable as a separate side.

The bibb salad and soup were okay though nothing special. The swordfish dinners were very good, though nothing special about the presentation as we have seen at other farm to table restaurants.

There is zero ambiance here. This reminded us of a cafe from the '70s in terms of decor. This is not a place where you really want to linger over dinner. However the prices are the same as at a fine dining restaurant.

Bottom line: This was very disappointing on many levels-- the refusal to accommodate food allergies, the high noise level, the complete lack of ambiance, and fine dining prices for a restaurant that was anything but that.

Came in tonight with my girlfriend who has celiac and we both thought it was a 10/10 experience. The staff was extremely friendly and the menu was off the charts!! We look forward to coming back soon but have a feeling it’s going to get super busy over there real soon ;) Thanks for the wonderful date night

Absolutely amazing!

Kelly and Doug make a great team .. do yourself a favor and get the short rib when it's on special and the bacon every time :)

My only hesitation in writing this is that it's gonna make it harder to get a table but you gotta support phenomenal local businesses
