Just got turned away from this restaurant with two kids when there were 2 people eating in the entire restaurant because they said they didn’t have an adequate staff, but they had two people as hostess, will never attempt to eat here again, the hostess was cold and rude and clearly didn’t want to deal with kids in her empty lifeless restaurant

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. It’s right in the ocean in Avon By The Sea. However, the breakfast was mediocre at best and the place is run by idiots. We just tried to have breakfast here again, and there was about 30 empty tables, and was told there was a wait. How are you not properly staffed on Labor Day weekend?

restaurant was empty but they said we needed reservation - odd bc it was empty. finally sat output party of 5 in the worst possible seat behind a wall
with no view of water (still
empty) We ordered 5 apps and waited 30 mins - all
the while almost never checked in with by server. Finally when we almost contemplating leaving, the apps arrived and they were underwhelming and the portions were tiny. We spent $ 100 on bird sized apps and left starving ( no drinks ).
many other people also waiting for food.
we just wanted to get out of there asap. we paid the bill and went somewhere else for dinner. would not recommend .

Restaurant is one of the best down the jerseys shore. The manager Donna makes you feel like family. Everything about this restaurant is phenomenal.I actually give it six stars.

Arrived 7:15 am with family member since website says opens 7am Saturday for breakfast..was told kitchen staff is late .. they will eventually open and will take about 20 minutes to set up.. What a terrible way to run a business.. Of course I left .. Very. very disappointed in the unprofessional way this business runs it restaurant.

My husband and I have favored this location since the 1980’s. It is sad to see that the newest owners don’t embrace the small town environment. We haven’t eaten inside because of the reviews. We got coffee and a bagel at the counter. Coffee was good. Only comes in one size for$3.25. Bagel was supposedly toasted with cream cheese. Only choice was plain for both. While waiting, the gift shop was closed and looked deserted. Tons of trash by the locked crates holding beach chairs for sale. Just sad.

Not at all good. I tried 3 times each time I was more disappointed than the last. Breakfast menu keeps getting smaller and smaller. They will be out of business soon. Sad I absolutely loved Avon Pavillon

Beautiful setting. Very good food and attentive staff. Been there before and will be there again.
Parking: Although located right on the beach the parking was fine at dinner hours.

Big disappointment. Came for breakfast today. Tables 1/2 empty. 30 minute wait! If you don't know how to run a restaurant please close or sell to someone who does. (Btw over priced too)

I stopped in here on a Sunday for breakfast at 8:30. After the hostess watched us standing there for a few minutes, She finally came over to tell us there would be a 20 minute wait. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were still waiting 30 minutes later.
So we went over to the snack bar and the simple order of 2 muffins came out wrong

The replacement of the former Avon-by-the-Sea boardwalk concession has been uneven as it relates to the take-out menu. They got rid of the iconic extra large griddled hot dogs with toasted buns and replaced it with a soggy, pre-made alternative. And the chicken tenders were under cooked. After two unsuccessful attempts at lunch at the Promenade, I crossed the street and ate at the Columns for the first time. I’ll return when the Promenade’s take-out options move a bit closer in quality to that of the former concessionaire.

I had a fantastic experience at The Promenade last night. Matt, our server, provided excellent service with a great sense of humor. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was delightful. Highly recommended!
