Been coming to LBI for many years but somehow never made it to this old time island classic. Finally made it and we were not disappointed and were glad that we did. This place is tastefully decorated with an old saloon and maritime theme, pictures of family, friends, locals and sports heroes lace the walls creating a friendly and fun atmosphere. We went with the goulash, served with egg noodles, mushrooms and beef in a mild cream sauce. We also had Jaegerschnitzel, with the pork breaded and served with spaetzel, red cabbage in a German brown sauce, absolutely wonderful. Service was professional and friendly, I think that I will be coming back on a more regular basis.

Visiting from California and this place was awesome! Food was delicious and beers were cold. Service was excellent and Linda went above and beyond. Very happy to enjoy a local spot and felt welcomed. Walked out with some souvenirs as well.

Ate here for the first time in around 15 years. All I remember way back was the tiny beer mugs that are not there anymore (yay!). Food was all very very good, as good as pub grub gets in fact. We had the pot roast special, steamed garlic clams, fish tacos and jagerschnitzel. The chocolate peanut butter cake was also great. My theory is that given the average house is well over $1 mil on most of the north half of the island, the clientele here has higher tastes/expectations and Kubels delivers on food service and atmosphere. Ate there last night and the staff all had Halloween costumes on.

Spicy cauliflower ... Soooooo gooood! Crab cake ... Amazing! No fresh squeezed citrus for cocktails but still a nice spot.
Tried something different, got the crab pie! Lottza crab in it, but the size of it was small for 31.00. The taste was just ok. Could be a bit bigger for the price and a bit tastier! I'll still come back to try something else!
