Very poorly organized reenactment. Parking and shuttle took too long. The shuttles arrived at the site of the reenactment just on time but they forbade us from entering. The reenactment didn't even begin until about 5 minutes later. So 20+ people stood out of view until it was over. Very disappointed. Since the county park employees clearly saw all 3 shuttles arriving just before the reenactment was supposed to start, they could have easily notified the others at the tavern.

One of oldest taverns in the country. A great place to visit.

Nice place
Easy to walk around but, there is a longer trail for experienced walkers.
I was unaware of this park. It is full of history.
No metal detectors.
Closes at 4pm

Wonderful bit of history here. Well-maintained with a parks representative on site at all hours because he lives in the rear structure. Oh, and he will be sure to remind you of park hours, so dont show up at dusk. Creek is wonderful. Walking trail is made of recycled tires. Classes and events held here regularly. Check their calendar. Great place to enjoy a picnic. Survived the tornado that ripped through a couple years ago. Lost some beautiful trees, but the structures were untouched. Amazing.

The tavern is the oldest still standing tavern in the United States and inside are a lot of historical facts and artifacts. It was about a mile down a smooth dirt road that was pretty narrow, if you pass someone you'll have to get off the edge of the road to do it. They have a three and a half mile long hiking trail. We walked the mile and a half that is north of the dirt road. A lot of this trail is brand new and it is cut out from an area that was hit by a tornado a couple years ago. There are hundreds of trees that were taken down by the force of the storm. It's quite a sight to see. Parts of the trail can be a little swampy so wear proper shoes, but it's not a difficult walk and much of it is typical of other trails here in the pine barrens. Overall I give the experience five stars

Very interesting history in a peaceful spot. The woman working was very friendly and well versed in the local history

A place I’ve heard of for many years. Finally the time was right to take the trip out there. What an amazing place tucked away out in the middle of nowhere. The history this place holds is incredible. For one, this is the site of the last skirmish of the revolutionary war. Who knew ? Right ? Inside is like stepping back in time. All of the restorations and displays will keep you enthralled at least two hours if you are interested. I was. There is more to see on the rest of the property. That will be for another time. Always be respectful of the sensitive ecologically beautiful area in the Pines.

Was a beautiful place and quiet. Wasn't able to gp inside, which sucked but looking around and reading the signs worked. Over the bridge, there's a spot you go to where it feels as tho you're on an island. Your surrounded on 3 sides by water, and I thought that was an awesome spot to camp for the weekend even tho I don't know if it's allowed and I'm sure not, but it's a wicked hideaway. BTW, the sunset is not from that place but was the same night and thought it looked awesome after going there. The other pictures are the East and West side of Jersey. I should have taken the picture of the road and the signs on each side. Next time I'm that way, I'll add it.Last info, if you go there to do something you should not be doing, that place has a few cameras, some hidden, some not. The reason why I never went to "The Island" cause I know they are watching. So, if you're bored or in the area or driving to find historic spots, it's a good spot to check out. Just don't be disrespectful, and please pick up after yourself, have fun, and make sure you take pictures.

Two miles down a dirt road. Signs describing the history. If you are not in the neighborhood, I won't recommend visiting.

Buildings closed, but enough to see for a quick visit. Very clean, newly updated, historic information is well organized. Hope to see the reenactment someday.
