Nice place
Easy to walk around but, there is a longer trail for experienced walkers.
I was unaware of this park. It is full of history.
No metal detectors.
Closes at 4pm
Wonderful bit of history here. Well-maintained with a parks representative on site at all hours because he lives in the rear structure. Oh, and he will be sure to remind you of park hours, so dont show up at dusk. Creek is wonderful. Walking trail is made of recycled tires. Classes and events held here regularly. Check their calendar. Great place to enjoy a picnic. Survived the tornado that ripped through a couple years ago. Lost some beautiful trees, but the structures were untouched....
The tavern is the oldest still standing tavern in the United States and inside are a lot of historical facts and artifacts. It was about a mile down a smooth dirt road that was pretty narrow, if you pass someone you'll have to get off the edge of the road to do it. They have a three and a half mile long hiking trail.
