Very disappointing first visit. Arrived and checked in at 6:15 for our 6:30 reservation. At 6:45 I questioned status as multiple tables arriving after us were seated and was told they were managing a busy night, but should be about 10 minutes. Your son, the honest one apologized and said they forgot to check us in and we would be seated shortly. Accepted a high-top, as the wait was longer for the dining room, as was our reservation. We were a surprised to see there were regular tables in bar arra, but we weren't offered those. Upon seating, we did order drinks and appetizers. Our tuna and mussels showed before drinks. Then 1 drink arrived, but was told the other was complicated and someone else needed to make....it was a drink off of your menu. We started with the Apps, but had to flag someone down as the mussels were not at all hot. About 10 minutes later our mussels came back. They were hotter, but surprisingly there was a piece of penne in the dish. Did they reheat my mussels in a dirty pan? At this point we asked for check and a manager. We saw waitress/bartender chatting with the front counter. I guess they didn't know who to send. She was then chatting with other wait staff. Eventually your son came over to apologize and did comp part of check. The whole experience was disappointing. Listening to others, issues with food, awaiting seating and even awaiting checks.

I was here for an event in one of their private rooms. The place is clean, bright and the food was good. The only thing that I thought was weird is that they have 2 adjoining party rooms and only 1 door. So guests in the back room have to walk through the party in the front room to enter or exit. I suppose if they inform their patrons of that fact, it's probably a non issue. Just my observation.

Pleasant surprise! MIL lives on LBI, we were driving to visit. Husband asked me to find a place to stop for lunch on the way-ish. We missed [whatever they called the revamped] Chowderfest this year and I was having Manhattan chowder FOMO. Googled the entries, we took a detour.
Leaving this review for the impeccable service. I told the waitress we were in a bit of a rush [due to the last minute detour], let's be real, that can be obnoxious. She was so nice about it! She was also attentive and thoughtful without hovering. I've worked customer service, that takes real skill. Wish I caught her name, she was covering the dining room on 11/16 at ~1:30pm, this establishment is very lucky to have her.
As for the food: I enjoyed the chowder, husband had the NY strip sandwich. We "split" buffalo calamari, which he found to be too mushy but I still liked both the taste and presentation (my first with actual blue cheese crumbles intermixed, the cheese was solid quality). Because he's picky and didn't eat it, I had most left over for dinner, a quick round in the air fryer crisped it beautifully. He did like the sandwich, the prices were reasonable, and can't speak highly enough about the service. I'd take that detour again!

Always a great experience at Lefty’s. One of my favorite restaurants! We love it so much, we call it “Lefty’s on the right” because we come from Whiting and head South on Rt. 9.

Lefty’s is my go-to spot! The chicken wings, French dip sandwich, and French onion soup are my absolute favorites—they never disappoint. The wings are always perfectly crispy, the French dip is flavorful and tender, and the French onion soup is rich and comforting.
The service is always great, and the staff makes you feel right at home. If you’re looking for amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere, Lefty’s is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Nice to have Happy Hour back though only a very few appetizers are available. We tried the new Meatloaf Bites with balsamic vinegar on the main menu. They were fantastic! Reasonable $16 bottle of wine. Service as always is friendly and efficient. Looking forward to our return.
Update: we always enjoy the delicious food, generous portions, nice atmosphere and excellent service. We were there the other day when it was very busy with lots of bar crawl participants. Jared has always been a terrific server, very kind, friendly and professional. He really was amazing in serving so many people in a crowded room and still looked after us. He was indeed cool, calm and collected.

Absolutely perfect service and the meal was incredibly delicious. All I had was the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, and my parents enjoyed the hell out of a lobster bisque sandwich too.
