place is pretty good. but they have something on their menu called Rhode Island Chowder. RI Chowder is a real thing, and it bears absolutely no resemblance to what their menu described as mix of red and white. RI chowder is unique because it is a clam broth base with no tomato and no milk/cream/thickening agent of any kind. it's also called clear chowder. they should have more respect for RI and name that concoction after whoever thought it would be a good idea.
I’ve been going to Allen’s for over 35 years . Great hometown experience.the owners and staff are great people and friends . I always recommend Allen’s .If you haven’t been there You are missing out .
We have eaten at Allen’s several times! Every time the food is great, friendly and prompt service and we LOVE their AYCE crab leg nights! If you have never been you should try it!
