They used to be the best burgers in town. I ate 1 million burgers here. I had one today and it tasted absolutely horrible. No taste at all! They had to change the recipe.

The diner used to be 1 of my favs in the neighborhood.. but, they must have changed cooks / chefs. Because the last couple of times food was lousy. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (medium cook) & it came out loose & undercooked. My son ordered a grilled cheese & it came out well done. - there was 4 of us & no one was the happy. & The bill came out to about $120. (For a salad, burger, cheese sandwich & waffle).. *gave them a couple of extra chances; I won't be going back.

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose The Sand Castle Diner for Beachwood, our 124th town.
It's a classic Jersey diner! Fast service, reasonable prices, and all of the breakfast standards. We feasted like kings on a pair of Italian Omelettes.

This place use to be 5 Stars all the way. I don't know if ownership or management has changed, but my last visit was not a good one. First impression was the young guy in shorts ignoring we existed walking to a table that he didn't say 'follow me' or welcome. It continued with spotty service and not hot food. Because of my great experiences here in past years, we ordered big for 2 people. I wanted my GF to share my previous good times. Our not very good dinner for 2 came to $102! At this now not soo good Diner! We will not return unless we see an Under New Management sign.

Great Diner. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Huge menu with a ton of options. Breakfast and lunch are available all day. Not sure if the dinners are available all day. They have Daily specials too.
Parking: Huge lot.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats available. They give crayons and a coring book and the staff is always very friendly to my 3 hear old
