Good Thai food with authentic flavors. The dishes are well-seasoned, made with fresh ingredients, and served in good portions. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. A solid Thai restaurant in the U.S. that I’d come back to.

While Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines seem to grab most of the Asian culinary spotlight in the US, don’t sell Thai food short. It is more than curries and papaya salad. The cuisine takes the perfect blend of spicy, acidic, sweet, and aromatic to form bold and dynamic flavors.
Located right between Belleville Park and the Passaic River on a busy Washington Avenue, Topaz Thai is a beloved family-owned/family-run BYOB establishment known for its Thai cuisine.
Upon entering as a first-timer, I was greeted by the owner’s wife, Bankie, and led to a table by the window inside a cozy, warm, and welcoming dining area with minimal traditional Thai decor.
I decided on the Pad Thai (ผัดไทย) with fried tofu accompanied by Thai iced tea (ชาเย็น). The food was incredibly flavorful and fresh, using the best ingredients, resulting in the perfect balance of spices. Every dish is thoughtfully executed and prepared to provide an authentic taste. The tofu was perfectly cooked. Portion size was just right. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very attentive, which made the whole dining experience even better. Since I had the entire place to myself, I had the honor to speak with the cook/owner, Narit.
Over the years, it has become a go-to spot for both locals and visitors seeking a genuine taste of Thailand.

As a Thai person and a big fan of Thai food, I can truly say this restaurant makes me feel at home.
The flavors are authentic and very close to what I grew up eating back in Thailand.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every dish had the perfect balance of spices, and you could really taste the authentic Thai flavors. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very attentive, which made the whole dining experience even better. The restaurant itself is cozy and clean with a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great Thai food!

As Thai people, I would recommend “Kra Pao Nua” (Stir fried Basil with Minced Beef) and Yum Woon Sen (Spicy Vermicelli Salad). The taste like from Thailand my hometown. All portions are worth to pay. Staff are friendly and polite. Atmosphere is very cozy.
If you want to fulfill real Thai Authentic taste, I recommend Topaz❤️
