CLOSED. This address is no longer operating as Matthew's Diner. Signs on the window, along with the main lighted up sign in front state that a "Brownstone Diner" will be opening at this address following a complete redesign of the building.
Ok, to start the food was great, always has been. My fiancé and I have been here numerous times, it was our go to diner when we lived in the area. The reason for the 3 star review today is because our waitress. We went at 11:50 on a Sunday so we expect it to be busy, no problem there. We were still seated immediately. Great atmosphere and fond memories of coming here to enjoy meals with my family in 1967 through 1980. Today my niece Jill (from Boston) and myself, Rose (from Texas), came here for a delicious greak salad and Mo our server was very friendly. So was Sam Matthews, the owner. The soup was yummy. Small world, found out Sam grew up in Harrington Park too. We hope to return for another delicious meal before leaving.
