One of my favorites in an area with not-so-impressive-yet-VERY-expensive places to eat. I was a fan before the business burned down, and am an even bigger fan after its reopening. Ordered from them on Monday night - Panang chicken curry was fresh, flavorful and nicely blended and had beautiful fresh veggies. Pork Pad Kee Mao (medium) had an unexpected spice, not complaining! Spring rolls were fresh and crispy. I usually get the Massaman curry which can vary from restaurant to restaurant, and day to day, but theirs is always consistently thick and flavorful. I have honestly never gotten a bad meal from here and I'm a regular customer - at least once a month. Order by phone.

This was my first time having Thai food in my entire life and it is now my favorite food ever. Taan Thai food was so delicious and the service was amazing. I will definitely be returning for some more very soon!

I used to absolutely love this place. The food was excellent and the employees were friendly. Stopped in today for a cold drink. It took 3 awkward, polite asks for the woman to blankly stare at me and say " we don't have that". Got a thai lychee iced tea instead. The lychee was literally frozen into a block and thrown in the cup. With 3 inches of tea and no ice cubes. For over 4.00. I took one sip and had to let the ice block melt in order to drink more. WHAT HAPPENED to this place ?? It used to be SO good. With the prices being higher and the service being what it was, I cannot justify going back . There are plenty of other options in Bergenfield. I sincerely hope this place gets their act together soon.Dietary restrictions: Employee thought coconut milk contained gluten. Not allergy friendly, don't even try.Wheelchair accessibility: Front door is partially broken and there is a step to enter the restaurant. Doubt that the staff would bring food to a person with a disability, even if they were outside the door .

I really wanted to love this place! Ordered a lunch special chicken pad Thai- it lacked flavor also ordered a soup it was missing lemon grass just got a hint of it! Maybe in the future I will try them again. My search continues for great Thai food in Bergen county

The food at this adorable, tiny brightly colored Thai restaurant (take out only) is exceptional! Everything is fresh, delicious, made to order Thai food. Nothing is overly salty, too sweet or too fried. The Pad See Ew is addictive and the Penang Curry is beyond delicious. They are very accommodating with dietary restrictions. The staff is as lovely as can be. It is simply the best take out food around.

It's ok now. Used to so much better especially before the fire ?. Ordered Pad kee mao and it was alright, smelled amazing but the flavors were lacking somewhat. Pineapple fried rice was really a let down, it just looked and tasted so bland and put together last minute with no time for the flavors to mingle. Thai iced tea was great! But I feel like it's hard to mess up.

the worst thai I've ever eaten, expensive, tasteless pad see eww, thin noodles with meat that smelled. it should be wide ribbons with delicious meat. The whole meal was tasteless.I would never eat here again!!! Gross!

This is NOT a restaurant......it is strictly a take out place which is beyond tiny. Two people cannot fit in to grab the take-out order. That being said, the food was ok. Not as good as I’ve had in any other Thai places. More of a 2 1/2 rating.... definitely not average at all. Portions can be skimpy, and not exactly as the menu reads. My dish should have had an assortment of veggies.....only ones I got were 5 pieces of eggplant and some sliced up bamboo shoots. Soups were missing a few ingredients as well. Not worth the prices when ingredients are AWOL! I was ready to visit their newer sit-down location in Ridgewood, but now I think I’ll take a hard pass on that idea.

Taan Thai is a Thai restaurant right off the Washington ave in Bergenfield. It is a takeout-only restaurant that serves authentic Thai cuisine. The menu at Taan Thai lacks a wide variety of Thai dishes, but the place is small and it is understandable for them to cut on some of the items vs focus on the specific dishes quality. It has great classic curries and noodles you can pick any meat or fish or vegy going with them. The ingredients are all fresh and high-quality, and the dishes are cooked to perfection. The service at Taan Thai is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations.Overall, Taan Thai is a great place to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, the only one in the numerous places in that corner of Bergen County .The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend it!Here are some of the pros and cons of Taan Thai:Pros:Authentic Thai cuisineFresh and high-quality ingredientsCooked to perfectionFriendly and attentive staffReasonable pricesCons:Takeout-onlyJust one table in outdoor seating

I have only ever ordered for pick up or delivery from Taan Thai since the restaurant is a small space on the side of a train track. However, do not let the size of the building fool you, the flavor of the food is as big as it gets. I have had Thai food in several different places, and this place can definitely wrestle some giants. I have ordered several things from their menu and everything has been delicious so far. Some of my favorites are: pineapple fried rice, spring rolls, crab wontons, pad thai, and the popcorn chicken. There's definitely something for everyone in this hidden gem and I have yet to find a better Thai restaurant in the area.

I posted on Yelp but it keeps asking me to rate here on Google so I will rate here too.We have lived in this area since 2017 and have used other Thai restaurants (Norwood, closter, etc). We decided to try Taan 2 wks ago... honest feedback from all 6 people who ate was the food was "okay". I personally do not like over-salty foods so I was pleased this is not the case...however, it almost is not enough flavor....we can taste it but everyone wanted more sauce/flavor in all the dishes we tried.Cooking tastes/feels authentic.Confused with others recent reviews about atmosphere....this is a take-out only place people! HahaPricing ok but you pay 20-30% more by ordering online as they used 3rd party services (grubhub, doordash, etc) even for pickup orders....they need to get their own system up/running to avoid this i think. You CAN call them to avoid this extra fee but much more convenient to order online. There is no Parking lot for this business but decent amount of train parking across the street.Bottomline is we prefer other Thai flavors but Taan has okay flavor...its just not powerful enough for us...but that is a personal opinion....try them and decide for yourself.

My friends and I were hesitant to place an order, but we were so impressed with their food! The restaurant is tiny but works as it's offers only take-out. We ordered their pad see ew, pad ke mao, massaman curry, basil fried rice, edamame and thai iced tea. They even gave us a second Thai iced tea!The flavors were very authentic and flavorful! As someone already mentioned in their review, the rice to curry ratio is tiny. I believe the rice take-out container is equivalent to a cup of rice (1/2 of the usual pint of rice at most take-out restaurants)- making it the smallest rice container I've ever seen LOL

I have 2 other Thai places near me (Norwood & Closter) but decided to try them out due to online reviews. As other reviewers have stated, you CANNOT eat here...take out only...so quite confused with some recent comments about their "service" ...Also, They do not have their own ordering website so you either have to call or order via online 3rd party (and pay 25%+ more for the same food)... but owners/staff super friendly during pickup .... no parking for this store but good amount of train/street parking right across the street so no issues. Now, the food.... appears to be authentic style cooking and very little salt used (good thing!) BUT we all had same comments.....very very little flavor in all dishes. You could taste the basic flavor but not strong or enough....left everyone craving/asking for more sauce! HahaPerhaps we will try again in future but for now, we will stay with other choices near us as the other restaurants dish flavor resounds more for us AND I can easily order online for pickup without overpaying fees to Grubhub or Doordash.
