Mom and pop sized restaurant with great portions and quality dishes! The head chef in the kitchen is the sweetest woman who loves to see people enjoy her food.

Spicy dishes are on the right side for people who can handle spicy but still want to taste different flavors. Short of visiting someone's grandmother in Thailand, I can't expect better Thai food.

I ordered from here since my usual spot (Thanee Thai in Scotch Plains) was closed. Wings were good. The beef pad thai was overly sweet, bland, and dry. There wasn’t much beef but it was also dry and chewy. I also asked for spicy/thai spicy and it was not spicy.

Quick service! I think we had our food in less than 5 minutes! The September special included fried vegetable egg rolls and vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, which were nice additions. My goddaughter and I both had entrées with the yummy brown garlic sauce. She had chicken and broccoli and I had pork with a variety of delightful veggies (I forgot the name of it, unfortunately). The servers were very pleasant. The decor is simple and interesting (like a fascinating elephant tapestry). Lovely birthday dinner!

Just happened to come to Proud Thai by chance and was very surprised by the taste, quality and atmosphere of the restaurant.

We ordered Shrimp Panang curry, drunken egg noodles and their salmon. Portions were great, price reasonable and fresh ingredients. Moreover the staff was super friendly and offered us free spring rolls and to top it off free ice-cream at the end.

Highly recommended will be going back for sure!

We really loved this place. We accidentally found it, since due to certain health issues, I have to eat no animal protein and no dairy. They have a great selection of vegetable and vegan options. My wife decided order vegetable dumplings and since I can't have gluten either, this was a treat. They are all veggie made triangles and so delicious. Something absolutely different from any dumplings we have tried before. We also got complimentary veggie spring rolls, as part of their service. We got our dishes. I got vegetarian duck dish. Absolutely tasty and I loved it. My wife got pad Thai noodles and our son got massaman curry chicken. All was incredible and absolutely tasty. Their service is incredible, very attentive and we just loved it. We will sure be back sometime in the future. Thank you staff and kitchen for making this a great experience for all of us.

Vegetarian options: There are plenty to choose from and what I got, was very tasty.

Small low key local place with few tables for dine in. Lunch portions are big at good prices. Spicy level is hotter than other Thai restaurants, would not recommend their highest level 3 for first timers here.

We have been a loyal customer of the place for several years, mostly ordering takeout sometimes dine in. I decided to dine in, tonight and unfortunately, the experience was EXTREMELY disappointing.

Food is ok regular thai food. Nothing special. We supported the place since it is local hometown restaurant and we are asians as well. But i had a very negative disappointment experience tonight.

Service Issues: Our table was left cluttered with used chopstick packaging and empty water glasses. No one came by to clear these items or offer a refill, or offer to pour the water like a proper sit down restaurant.

Lack of Attention: Despite not being there long and only eating half of our meal, no one checked in to see if we were enjoying our food. Instead, the waitress simply asked if we were done when we were still eating, i still have spoon in my hand which led us to decide to take the remaining food to go. Such a disappointing place.

Inconvenient Payment Process: When it was time to pay, I was ready with my card before they came with the bill, and when the cashier lady came by with the bill tray I offered my credit card, but the staff member left it on the desk and pointed me to use a machine at the front. The explanation given—that they didn't want to pay for a card reader fee—was confusing and didn't seem accurate. Because they can simply take the card to the front and do the check.

Overall, the combination of these issues made for a very unsatisfactory dining experience. I’ve always enjoyed supporting this local business and Asian food, but this visit was so disappointing that my family and I will not be returning or recommending it in the future.

This is a Thai restaurant.
There is a separate lunch menu.
It seems like a lot of people are ToGo.
We ate inside the store.
There aren't that many tables, about 8 for a table of two.
I ordered a noodle menu and fried rice.
The lunch menu comes with salad and spring rolls, but the price is cheaper.
I was satisfied with the salad and spring rolls.
I was satisfied with the meal menu and ate it all.
Of course, my stomach's complaints about eating too much are a bonus.
