Friday evening - terribly understaffed. One waitress appeared to have entire dining room. Some big parties in the room also made for a lot of noise so that it was difficult to have a conversation. Bartender was unfamiliar with a drink request (vesper); steak order did not seem to be a very good cut of meat. Very disappointing.

We had a lovely lunch at The Grain House. Both the California Shrimp BLT & the Fall Special French Dip were excellent, as was the service. Highly recommend.

A dependable location with a nice variety of food selections. Elevated noise level at lunch.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. My only real complaint was the veggie burger labeled ‘vegan' comes with a non-vegan yogurt sauce. The bun was also a little burnt. I still appreciated the vegan accommodation but I do wish the menu was more accurate.

I love The Grain House. Honestly, the food quality varies, but I've never disliked my meal. The music in the bar area seemed kind of loud for mid afternoon. The ambiance is classic- I will definitely return.

We got married here 8 years ago and love going back every year for our anniversary. Love the food and the service. Such a cosy atmosphere. We will be back again next year if not before.

Very nice outdoor setting. Perfect weather to sit outside and have a meal. Lunch was delicious. I had the lunch chicken quesadilla with spinach and my friend had the chicken panini. Both dishes were fresh and well made. I finished my meal completely which is unusual. We both had the Kris Pinot Grigio with our meals. Crisp and refreshing. I had coffee but no dessert. Overall the experience was lovely and my friend and I had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and talk in such a nice environment. Service was good not overly smothering.

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing lunch outside in their backyard garden. Nice selection of meals, appetizers and desserts. We highly recommend The Grain House, especially outside, weather permitting.

This restaurant was convenient to the hotel at which we were staying. It had a historic vibe and nice history sheet discussing its historic origins and evolution through the years since the 1770's. Food was very nice for the items we ordered, which were basic American fare.

We did not get one of the entrees ordered and had to return it. The other entree (sea bass) was overly cooked. Service was below average and reluctant to go back

Food was good but pricey. Service was very slow. Waited a long time for waitress to take our order.

Love the Grain House. We always eat in the bar area, as you can see the historical structure. It is wonderful. The food is always great and the service good. The bartender made sure our 18-month old son got his dinner very quickly. It was great. We were sooo appreciative.

After reading that this restaurant was rated highly as a romantic restaurant, we came here for our anniversary dinner. The drive was about 45 minutes. The restaurant itself was in an historic inn which was wonderful. We sat at a table which I assume was the main dining room. The room was full of people talking really loudly. The table next to us was using a lot of “4 letter words”. It was hardly a romantic setting. I was expecting a quiet, subdued atmosphere for our anniversary. Instead it was more of a loud bar-like atmosphere. Our cocktails seemed very watered down. They did redo them and they corrected that problem. On the positive side, food was delicious. However I doubt we will make the drive there again to dine, mainly because of the lack of a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

The mini chicken taco appetizer is a must - delicious. Unfortunately, much of the other food was mediocre and the inside smelled very musty.
