The setting and fireplace were lovely. The food, especially the crabcake, was excellent. Our waitress, Gloria, was attentive but not overbearing. Only negative l would note is the cocktail. Our Old Fashioneds could have been made with better quality ingredients (Luxardo cherry, premium whiskey, for example) in keeping with the level of everything else.

The food was great and the service was good, until we got our food. Then we never saw the waiter again. Until we finally asked for him ten minutes after our plates were cleared. Perhaps because when you have a table of 6 or more a 20% tip is automatically charged. So why should he work? Hmmmm

Food was delicious (Onion Soup, Cobb Salad, Turkey Burger, etc). Water glasses were filled regularly (I always appreciate that!). Never saw waiter after ordering until bill time—-should be asking how the food is. Enjoy this place and will be back.

Their Weekend Brunch is exceptional with their large menu that is capable of satisfying anyone's diet or fantasy. Most enjoyable & we will be back.

Bartender was not good at making drinks and was pressuring us to take our table prior to our reservation time

We came in early for a wedding at the Olde Mill inn and went over here to have a few drinks with family.

Maui Mahi fish tacos had more pico de gallo than fish. Would not order again. Service was very slow, maybe it was an off day because I've been here several times and food and service are usually great.

What a find for my husbands birthday ! It was perfect . We had a cozy table in the bar area by the fire . The menu selection was really great. Pork chop fantastic and I had a special with flounder over pumpkin risotto excellent . The pumpkin bisque amazing! If there were 6 stars I'd give the Grain House 6 stars - above and beyond on all categories . Thank you finally for a meal well spent!

Honestly expected more. Historic venue, lovely grounds..the scene was set for a fantastic and romantic dinner.
Upon entering it felt a little outdated. The clientele was very much an older generation (think 55+) and the staff were also more mature. These things aren't negative as such, but helps establish the somewhat outdated feel and also very casual clothing from the dining population. I thought It would definitely be more upscale as a whole in both decor, appearance and clientele.
The atmosphere was comfortable with a nice energy though and was a plus.
The food however was quite mixed. I had the scallops with risotto and I will say the risotto was outstanding and the scallops beautifully made. However the asparagus and side of brussel sprouts were exceedingly bland.
The other dish ordered was the sea bass which unfortunately was just ok and perhaps didn't meet the price tag associated with the meal, and again the accompanying vegetables were rather blah.
The dirty martinis were excellent though, but the draught list was rather limited.
All in all the restaurant was pleasant but for every positive, it seemed there was an equally average let down. We wanted to like the place more than we did and especially considering the prices, it didn't seem to match.

Sadly the service here was overly focused on individuals who are inconsistent with the values of the establishment.

Friday evening - terribly understaffed. One waitress appeared to have entire dining room. Some big parties in the room also made for a lot of noise so that it was difficult to have a conversation. Bartender was unfamiliar with a drink request (vesper); steak order did not seem to be a very good cut of meat. Very disappointing.
