Excellent Center Bernardsville Mexican food. Ample outdoor seating on roadside sidewalk. Unfortunately, the interior kitchen and dining area are crammed into a tiny space that offers only Stools and a narrow perimeter counter for dining. Only tables available are outside. Hispanic Corner could greatly benefit from a larger, more customer-friendly, location.

Tiny hole in the wall Mexican joint in the heart of Bernardsville. The lady working the counter wasn’t very friendly. I ordered a quesadilla and I ate outside in the sun. The portion was big and it hit the spot. It’s a bit of a greasy spoon but it is worth a visit for a quick bite.

Food was great, order was accurate, only a 10 minute wait and polite staff. The chicken empanadas and beef empanadas were great!

I see a couple reviews on here about service and food. I had surf and turf tacos recently. It's hard to find authentic Hispanic food, doesn't say Mexican in title of restaurant, says Hispanic. Anyways, I called and the gal politely in her best said she doesn't speak English. I asked if I could order inside and I was able to so I drove there instead. Inside she called someone and I was given the phone to order. Following this she took an actual frozen fish, yes full fish out to make for tacos. I thought this is the place. I knew then it would take maybe 15 minutes so I went to wait outside. I have worked around Hispanic individuals and have had the real authentic food. This is some good food and worth the try if you're will to be patient. Plus I picked up a menu on my way out and there was a number on it if you want to order in English. I'm definitely going back.
Stopped in for lunch and ordered al pastor tacos. Waited about 20 minutes, paid the 15+ dollars and when I got back to my job to eat the girl had given me a taco assortment. One pork, one beef, one chicken and one I have no idea. I am pretty easy going so it wasnt a huge deal to me but only the beef taco was decent. For that long of a wait and that much money I was hoping the food would at least be on point. Probably not going back.

I wanted to like this place more, but after getting takeout tacos and burritos a couple times, I've been disappointed both times. The food is good enough, but it's way overpriced for what you get. That's the "Bernardsville Tax" in action, once again. The place is just a tiny takeout counter with no attempt made at decorating the place, so low score on atmosphere. The staff is friendly, but they barely understand English. Make sure you clearly point at what you want in the English menu. The chorizo burrito was good enough the steak tacos were underwhelming, and while we ordered the beef empanadas, we got chicken instead, something that was impossible to verify until we were back home and it was too late. It's a small hole in the wall, and I know to temper my expectations, but it's too expensive for what you get. If they slashed the prices by 40%, I would give it 4 stars. I seriously get a more satisfying Mexican-style meal at Chipotle next door. I wish them luck.
Parking: There are very limited parking spots on the street, or you can park for free at the library a few paces away.

The empanadas are sooo good ?
Tried to try this place out, but instead of putting me on hold, they hung up on me after telling me to wait. By the 4th time, I knew it wasn’t an accident. lol. Plaza Tikal for the win! Try Plaza Tikal’s short rib tacos, they are amazing.

From their website " seeks to satisfy the need of the people of New Jersey to taste authentic Mexican food in the United States. a little bit of Mexico to feel there with a single bite you transport yourself to this nation" Growing up in CA and experiencing real Mexican food for 35 years of my life I can say without a doubt this establishment is not anything close to authentic. The location of this establishment is the only thing it has going for it. We have tried to enjoy their food 3 times and each time was a failure today will be the last chance we give them. We placed a phone order for 2 steak burritos when we arrived to pick up they said we only ordered 1 and did not want to make the second. We finally receive our 2 burritos 30 minutes later and go to the park to enjoy them.... there was a chunk of plastic, a thick corner cut off a bag of some sort in the middle of the burrito my child bit into.
