I've been here several times, and unfortunately this time found the service not up to the usual standards The young man who served us seem eager to please, but inexperienced and unable to handle all the table he was waiting on Won't stop us from going back, but this needs to be addressed

A friend recommended and Cafe Chameleon outdid her recommendation. Chef Sam’s food is fresh, vibrant, and brilliantly constructed. The cocktails are new and exciting with ingredients that are top shelf. If you want fine dining cuisine with a relaxed atmosphere, look no further.

If you've been here before, they have an amazing new chef..we did the chef tasting menu (they let us share!) and we added the panisse appetizer (had to look up what this was) and so glad I did! Unique fresh food with a rotating menu. If you haven't been here before, it's worth the trip!

Fantastic meal in a lovely restaurant. I had the tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was creative and delicious. Surprising and delightful mixtures of textures and tastes, each complementing the next. My husband had the pork meatballs and scallops which were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Cafe Chameleon has a new chef and is a real gem!

Service was excellent. The ladies and gentlemen were on top of their game. They made you feel very welcomed and very much at home. They provided us with attentive but not overbearing service. We were not rushed through the dinner and were able to relax a bit after the meal. A relaxing dining experience. Dinner portions were very good. A few less and possibly shredded almonds in the scallops, please Plenty of parking on the streets around the café. We look forward to returning for dinner and possibly just for drinks at The bar.

I recently visited Cafe’ Chameleon located at 60 Main Street Bloomingdale NJ.
Upon entering through the bar, you have an option to be seated there or within the larger main dinning room area. Both are aesthetically pleasing environments. Modern in appearance which creates an ultra modern vibe. Please note, the music was loud throughout the restaurant so if you’re looking for a more cozy atmosphere on date night keep this in mind.
We ordered some entrees and apps off a very eclectic menu printed on colored paper. There is a pairing menu, but also an appetizer and entree menu below.
Ordered were the basics. Chicken Parm, Chicken Milanese , a salad and some apps. The dishes were presented nicely and the portions were generous. The chicken dishes were heavily breaded but appeared to be the same. One with sauce on it and one with salad on it. I am not a trained Chef, so maybe that’s what it is. Mussels were tasty and a generous portion was also served. The dishes across the board were ok. However at this price point I was looking for a noticeable wow moment. By no means am I saying the food wasn’t tasty. But again, a trained chef always seeks a wow.
As far as service. Our waiter was very informative as to what was on the menu. The dishes came out in a timely fashion and were “serving warm” when received.
In closing, I would say Cafe’ Chameleon needs to focus on its direction. Are we going to offer a dinning experience, or are we going to offer a modern night club experience that serves food. Truth be told, the restaurant business is a tough one. The club business is taxing as well. Pick one.
These folks are doing what they can to make a go of it. With a wonderful bar area, upbeat modern atmosphere and large dinning room there is plenty of room for creativity.
With some focusing on the menu and subtle changes ( ditch the pairing menu) it can be the go to place no doubt.

The food was fantastic from the meatball appetizer , the Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious. I had the salmon entre fresh and perfectly prepared. My wife had the chicken parm, and broccolini was not only delicious but a Hugh portion. All the food is from the farm to the table, and the fish is brought in daily. Sondra, the owner was a great foster and you can tell this is her passion. Don't miss an opportunity to eat at this restaurant it will become your favorite.

Went on Friday night. New chef, new menu. Food was fantastic. I had scallop special. Best I have ever had, so much flavor which got better with each bite. We will come back to try the tasting menu. Everyone was so nice and accommodating with great service! A local gem!

A real gem in Bloomingdale. I had the Tasting Menu with the Wine Pairing option. Sondra suggested it after I made a reservation for 2. Each dish on the 5 course menu was superbly executed and presented. Amazing sampling of what the kitchen can produce. Baby Gem, Scallops, Trout, Risotto and Panna Cotta. The chefs Sam and Tom came out to chat a bit with us and other patrons that evening. They bring a lot of talent to the new tack of the restaurant. The pairings were well chosen, all whites...from Prosecco and Sauvignon Blanc, to Rose. Tre was a great source for the food menu and wines for our dinners. Many regulars were warmly greeted on their entry...very friendly staff. A new favorite place in the area for me.

Cafe chameleon is one of my favorite restaurants. The owner, Trey, and his family always make you feel at home. Excellent cocktails. The food is always great I've never had a meal there I didn't like.
