We had a great dinner here. The food was really good. Mixed group so the vegan options were appreciated and enjoyed. Good beer selection. Dive bar atmosphere. Service was not good. There was barely anyone in there yet we had to keep asking for things instead of being checked on. Sat there for a long time before we could even give our drink order, let along the food.
A+++ The HOB tavern is a CLASSIC NJ bar!!! I go out of my way to stop by there when I'm in B-Town. Great selection of local craft beers and the food is as good as you will find anywhere at any price!!! Cooked to perfection and plated like they're doing a photo shoot. They have live music sometimes and a nice mixed age crowd. You can't go wrong stopping by, here!!!
If you’re not a local, you may not have a good time. The bartenders pick and choose who they like and how they’ll serve you. Management should work on that. If you want to be the “hub of Bordentown” don’t hire people who are judgmental of others in town (not gonna name names) people should be able to come here and feel safe.
