From the outside, it looks very average. As soon as you walk in, it looks like a dive bar. But it truly is a hidden gem!
The atmosphere is part of the charm, and our server was excellent the 3 times we went there. I totally forget his name.
The food is great. Steaks are generously sized and reasonably priced at $25 and $30. The salads are a basic tossed salad and tasty.
Highly recommend the seared tuna; the best I have ever had.
The potato skins are excellent. Not crispy and not greasy, so more like a baked potato, but make for a wonderful appy. We had them all 3 nights we ate there.
Overall, it’s an excellent place to go to if you want a break from the upscale, stuffy feel of most NY/NJ area restaurants, or if you want a nice casual night with friends. If you like a dive bar, small town feel this is the place to go, but even if you don’t, the food is worth the trip.

We found this place because it was one of the few open on Labor Day. Our server Barbara was extremely pleasant, an awesome server too, and the food was fantastic.
We actually went back 3 days later. We had different meals, and it was just as good. We are Happy to have found this place and will definitely be back.

Meg and Katie were the very best, down-to-earth mother and daughter duo who provided a perfectly entertaining atmosphere!!! The stories Meg could tell from the 47… let me say that again, 47 YEARS she’s been working here!! The food was just as great as the staff. Nearly everything is made from scratch here. The fish and chips was among the best we’ve had in our travels and the codfish sandwich was also top notch. So good that we ordered something to go, because we knew we couldn’t go wrong if they were recommending it- the Chicken Francaise Hoagie. The head chef has even been here 30 years so the consistency is going to be unparalleled. We will let you know after we come back for our next visit because now, there’s no way we will be passing up this place when we’re in town!

Walked right in on a busy Friday evening, sat down and had a great dinner…prime rib- which was tremendous and ribs- were excellent. Great menu to chose from. Service was great and we all had a good time. Highly recommend.

Great food, huge portions. Shout out to Jose. He made my family feel like valued guests. It was a bit loud because of the tight quarters and bar in the front. We all enjoyed the fried calamari as an appetizer. Recommend the linguine alfredo with chicken, penne vodka with sausage, the fish (cod) and chips, brownie ala mode and apple crumb cake.

Nice local place with OK food. Servers, bartenders, and wait staff are friendly and it’s definitely cozy inside. Some dishes are better than others- New Orleans Shrimp is OK, but not exactly authentic. Burgers are decent, but appetizers vary in quality. Some, like potato skins aren’t exactly mouthwatering. Caters mostly to locals and looks like it hasn’t changed that much inside in a long time.
