Place was okay. Not to die for. If you’re looking for a quick lunch and nothing to write home about this is your spot. Just normal sandwiches nothing crazy.

The food was very good. Great staff, clean. We had a nice late lunch, pleasant atmosphere, staff was very nice and extensive menu.
Definitely authentic northern Indian cuisine
Dishes are well prepared
I had the food delivered
Came within 30 minutes of ordering
It had obviously been prepared to order since it was quite hot
I asked for medium level spice could ask for a little higher level
Sweet tamarind Chutney, which is hard to make was properly prepared
I have not eaten in the place so I cannot talk about service or atmosphere
But for Ocean County fairly decent northern Indian cuisine at a reasonable price Portions are generous
I would definitely recommend you try it out
Originally being from Lahore Pakistan, I definitely know what good northern Indian cuisine is

Very happy that there is indian food in town! Menu is very basic, Strange set up being that it sells subs, a convenience store and Indian food. However, the lamb curry was very tasty i just wish the lamb was more tender. But I'll definitely go back and try chicken. Let's hope we can get an actual indian restaurant

This place is no longer the Poor Boys that we know. The Poor Boys we know went out of business (sold) a few months ago, and it's gone. It's now a typical convenience store that kept the name and serves the original menu items. The food is not the same at all. I ordered the Poor Boys famous Steak Bomb, and I got a terrible cheesesteak with a few pieces of pepperoni, and yellow cheese wiz sauce. Everything was undercooked, the bread seemed old and for no reason there were undercooked or raw green peppers on it.
I would've liked to have seen the new owners train under the original ownership for a couple months and continue to produce the sandwiches that we've all come to love over the years. I'm going to miss that old steak bomb, but I suppose all good things must come to an end.
Steak Bomb:
50/50 Cheesesteak to pepperoni ratio
American cheese (white)
Grilled onions

Worst deli I’ve been to in jersey. Guy working wiped his nose twice, took his airpods in and out 4 times, rang up two people buying cigarettes, and left the store all without changing his gloves. Waited 40 minutes for two sandwiches. This place has seriously fallen off since it was sold. On top of all of it they have Islamic prayers playing nonstop

Thought I would try Poor Boys after seeing a sign saying under new ownership. Used to go there all the time. Well this visit was a waste. Sub bread tasted like it was left over from two days ago. Never again. Sorry.

What a shame. The new owners have really taken Poor Boys down from a great sub shop to a sub-par sandwich shop. They now sell cigarettes behind the counter - cigarettes just do well with fresh food. Subs are no longer excellent. The amount of meat is a third of what they used to be. The bread seemed like it was a day old and a bit stale. For an $18 sub, I expect to get some decent meat. I will not be returning and will need to find another sub shop that offers a better quality, value and overall experience. Also, they no longer have tables to sit and enjoy your sandwich.

I took too long to serve me. He sucks the place is for the birds. They should’ve never went that direction. The place should’ve just been put out.

I got the Turkey Rachel with in house made cole slaw. It was delicious! The new owners are friendly, and the addition of convenience store offerings, lottery, and breakfast make it a one-stop shop for any time of the day.

This place is so good. We love getting our subs to go for a day on the water. I stopped in recently to find a breakfast menu, nice. Poor Boys is a one stop shop for great food and now packaged goods. And it is so close to the ball field. Good luck to the new owners.
