The seating staff and cashier (family) are rude and obnoxious to guests. Our Dinner group stopped going there about 2 years ago. Last night we tried the place again, this time the rudeness started almost immediately as we were told we couldn't wait for a table inside and had to be outside in the cold! They act like they're the only game in town. We left and had a great meal at Houlihans. Won't be back there anytime soon.
I have no idea what happened to other reviewers, but we have ALWAYS had EXCELLENT service and food. So much food that you have to take some home--you can't eat all at once. Good value for the money. Service is excellent. Immediately sat down with no wait time. Location is perfect. Been going here for over 45 years. SAME owners. Wish we had this where we now live.
I had a piece of lettuce in my Mayonnaise cup, I told the waiter to get the manager. The manager came over. He said he would take care of my bill as I went to pay for it. The owners we're not we're not remove the portion of my bill. ,Isay I will be calling the board of health. They said they do not care because but he gave me a new one.Poor service has been going there for years and years.Ever since new owns took over the place has gone downhill. The customer behind me stated the same thing restaurant quality is not the same anymore.

DO NOT LEAVE A TIP WITH CARD. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU!!!!!
I have lived in Brick my whole life. Rainbow Diner was always one of the worst food establishments in the area, but it has gotten worse and worse to the point where I'm compelled to write a review.
For starters, PAY WITH CASH! I paid with card and they charged me extra money than I told them on the tip. I said I wanted to leave a $12 tip. They made it $15. I saw after they ran the card, so unless I wanted to make a big stink about it and waste a bunch of time having them refund the card, and wait for the refund, then it was a done deal. I decided not to make a scene out of it as I just wanted to get home and it was only $3. But a thief is a thief. I would not give any business to them out of principal. But if this doesn't turn you off, wait until I tell you about the food.
I got baked stuffed clams and a regular burger for my meal. The clams were okay, but they put a huge blanched tomato with feta cheese burnt to a crisp on top. Very weird, but it didn't get in the way of the clams so whatever.
The burger. . . Oh the burger. I'm not even convinced that was real meat. It had no flavor. I asked for a rare burger. Well, half of it was rare. The other half was well done. How they managed that I have no clue. But none of that mattered because the meat just had no flavor whatsoever. Seems like old beef to me. The bun was crushed for some reason and also devoid of flavor. And the Swiss cheese was just a melted slab of flavorless gunk. The tomatoes are the only part of the burger that had any flavor at all. So, I ate my bugermato in sadness.
With my burger also came a pickle and coleslaw. The pickle was a pickle. Fine. The coleslaw tasted aged. I tried to put pepper and salt on it to make it palpable but it was just not good. I gave up after 2 bites.
The fires also sucked and I didn't try the onion rings.
After all of this, I needed to stop on the way home for an emergency bathroom trip. And 30 minutes later at home I go again and it all came out like a waterfall. The food just gave me the runs.
And I am not a pickey eater. I'm the garbage can of my friend group everyone always gives me their leftovers. So for me to say this food was this bad is really saying something.
So, if you wanted to get robbed, eat terrible food, and get diarrhea, come to Rainbow Diner! 🌈

The Buffalo chicken wrap is disgusting. No idea what sauce they used but it wasn't Buffalo sauce. The chicken was cooked decently but the sauce ruined it completely. It was tangy and tasted like it was spoiled. Stick to the breakfast menu.

Good value for money. Friendly staff. There are plenty of options on their menu, but my favourite will be always their omelettes.

I have been there several times and each time either the food is terrible or the service is terrible or both.. The lady at the register is not at all helpful or can come up with any solution to the very long list of problems. There are many other options in the area.. Go and spend your money elsewhere

I don't know why it is so hard to have cooks make your order as requested. Eggs with home fries, home fries don't come with onions anymore, you have to order separately. I also ask for them to be fried well done, I can't stand uncooked onions. They are piled on a grill, some get charred, others get warm, then they are brought out. Never saw the waiter again until we were completely finished and ready for the check. The manager at check out, also never asked about how the food was, just took our money, and said good bye.

This is a classic old school NJ diner. Breakfast is good, service is good and it is the thing you expect when you think of a NJ diner. I did get a kick out of the entry area that still has 2 pay phones. I can remember this place 20+ ago when I lived here.
Kid-friendliness: Works great for kids. Typical diner booths
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is a ramp out front for entry.

I took my girlfriend there Monday night for dinner because I told her it was a very popular place and I’ve been there several times…when it came time to order we explained to the waitress that we would be sharing the meal…she told us that it would cost an extra 3.50 so we asked why and she said that’s the policy here…I asked to speak with the manager…a young man came over and I explained that my girlfriend has Parkinson’s disease and she doesn’t eat much because it’s difficult for her to swallow…he looked at her like he didn’t believe us, who would lie about that…he said he would for go the charge if I ordered a soup or a salad so I did…he then explained the next time we would have to pay the extra charge…he said that it is a family business and that’s their policy…well daddy wasn’t there so the son wanted to show his authority…here’s a suggestion for daddy…you might want to teach your son customer service and how to talk to the customer without a cocky attitude…needless to say we won’t be going back
