The roll makes the hoagie. The roll from here was stale and not fresh. Other than that, everything inside my hoagie tasted great. Fair prices.

Best hoagie from Brigatine to Longport and throughout Egg Harbor township. No one does it better.

A great old time butcher with great prepared soups and meals. The breakfast sandwiches are the best on the island.

Good service and butchers with skills

Great sandwiches, unbelievable meats and really delicious soft drinks that no one else serves. Service is terrific, with a healthy sandwich made a a smiling happy staff. It is a sub shop, butcher shop, does catering - feels like a place you want to eat at. No tables inside but some outside. Ambiance is cool and inviting. I like the buffet also, really great idea.

This little meat market/deli is off the beaten path of Atlantic City. The food is so fresh and the service was fast. Inside the deli is nothing to write home about, but they have so much food to choose from. Fresh jerky and soups too! Definitely will be back.

Purchased two culet sandwiches which were more than disappointing. Typical paper-thin chicken slice heavily breaded frozen variety tasting as if it was someone's chewy tasteless leftovers. The prosciutto fit right into this poor offering as it had the consistency of old leather. No offer of a seeded roll instead of the typical AC variety upon ordering. Keep in mind this is a butcher shop-you'd think their meats would be at least edible. We also purchased 3 varieties of house made Italian sausage then we fried with peppers & onions. The sausage sucked! The hot actually tasted as if it was prepared with a mealy grain filler. No comparison to Vineland's Serra's Sausage offered at Shop Rite. Furthermore, the breakfast sausage is tasteless and also has that mealy grain filler mouthfeel. What a joke, we'll never return!

Fast and professional service. Great cheese steak. Very interested in their homemade jerky. They also have daily specials and - when I went their - a make your own hot roast beef sandwich buffet. Highly recommended!

I was visiting Brigantine from Florida and saw "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" on the Food Network. I decided the following day to visit the store and get The Tailgater sandwich since it looked out of this world on the show. Well, lets start off by saying that the women working the counter and register are not friendly at all. Ordering my sandwich seemed like an easy process - The Tailgater without cheese. It took 20 mins to make my sandwich. My friends that were with me were told to leave the store, since they weren't purchasing anything. Regardless of my store experience, I was looking forward to the sandwich I saw on the TV Show. Well, as soon as I opened the packaging I was disappointed. There was cheese - I asked for NO CHEESE. I bit into the sandwich and thought I was going to chip a tooth - The sausage was dried out and hard. The only positive part of the sandwich was the roll & peppers/onions. Conclusion: I would never recommend Ernest & Son Meat Market. The women are unfriendly at the counter, the women at the register is nasty, the sausage isn't eatable and the prices are conveniently not listed for the fresh meats and other items in the market.

Great sandwich shop. Been to some well known sandwich shops nearby, but Ernest and Son is by far the best. Very friendly service as well.

Old school Italian Deli. Lunchmeat and sandwiches were good, meatball mix ground meat and sausage were good. Like a lot of places they are placing a surcharge on credit cards. I got a pound of cheese and they handed me that thick perfectly stacked pre sliced american cheese. I could have got that at Acme. Not a very clean or modern place but not unacceptable. Was pretty stoked to try it after seeing it on Diners, Dives etc show, but it's really just a throwback to the corner butcher we knew in the 70's. They will continue to get my business, because they have fresh meat and good sandwiches to go. They also have some picnic tables out front for a working man's lunch. It's a 3.5 bumped up to a 4 because it's an oasis in a desert.

This is the best place in Brigantine to get subs. They are so good, we have drivers pick some up to bring back to the office if they are dropping someone off on the island. They make their own jerky, how cool is that?

Basically fed my family lunch everyday on vacation. Everything is great especially the store made roast beef. A++++

Ordered a couple sandwiches and they didn’t even bother putting the cheese in the one and no pickles in the other.
