The ice cream is very bland. The smell of them making waffle cones seems like a lure, to make you feel like you're in a cozy place. That is until you get your ice cream. Forget cookie dough, there's literally no cookie dough in there. When I mentioned this to the girls behind the counter, they oh sorry, that happens! If I wanted vanilla ice cream I would have ordered it. I had the same issues a few years back, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Seems like they're just getting cheaper and cheaper with their quality. My husbands sundae was a joke! Both of our ice creams also tasted like they were in the freezer for months. I'm done with this place. There's better places in other local towns!!

Went in for ice cream with my family last Sunday evening. We sat inside and the employees were very unprofessional. They laughed and giggled so loudly the entire time and one of them even went outside to play with a cat that was on the street. It was very strange and odd experience. So many other good places around.

The employees were rude. I asked for Cookie dough with whipped cream and no cherry and I got vanilla with a cherry and when I asked about the mistake the employee was rude.

Homemade waffle cones...boost slushies. It was a good homecoming experience for this NJ transplant who lives in Ohio. This is one of the places that I've missed and I try to come here whenever I come back!

The ice cream in this place was just okay. The sevice from employees was great. The flavors of ice creams could be better.

Ummm is both a local treasure, and just a darn good ice cream parlor. The ice cream is made on the premises, and is exceptionally good! The service is friendly, and the prices are great. Don't wait - go visit Ummm Ice Cream Parlor!!

Lack of flavors. We were served a blackened walfle cone. Every flavor tasted (4) was bland and icy. Ordered Carmel toping on vanilla that tasted like butterscotch not Carmel.

Visited Umms for the first time this summer and was pretty disappointed. First thought when I walked in was that it was pretty warm inside which is odd considering it's an ice cream shop. My daughter ordered cookie dough ice cream with Oreo and Reese's pieces toppings, and this is what she got: ice cream SOUP! I asked the worker if the cookie dough was hard ice cream and she replied yes. I then asked why her ice cream looked like a milkshake. Her reply: "because it's hot in here". Unacceptable. Will not visit this establishment again.

Matt, the proprietor, is very friendly and very hard working. He makes all the ice cream himself every day on premises, and it tastes amazing. My children and I always keep coming back for more :)

Fantastic service and the ice cream was just as good as when I was a kid!

Daggonit Ummm, I'm bummed that our ice cream experience was so bad. A year or so ago, we had a good experience so when company came to town (which is actually two towns over), we chose Ummm to help support the Burlington economy. It's such a sweet little town. We were there in the evening with the temps in the low 80s. 5 people ordered from the outside table (we weren't allowed in, ice cream deserves a look, whatever). The shake was like thick milk, the waffle cone was like a rock, the vanilla ice cream (even though we asked) was like soup, the coke float was runny, and the mini split (1/4 of a banana) that the waitress insisted came with the usual toppings when I pointed out the menu read one topping, ending up costing me $8.95 for extra toppings!! and a soupy mess with a hunt for the banana bit. Yes, I know, we should have complained, sent it all back, and moved on but we were with company and didn't want to be "those people" so we sucked it up. But the reality is that when the waitress warned us against one flavor of ice cream being too soft and we clarified that our choices would not be too soft, she didn't know what she was talking about. We mentioned it to her and she blamed it on the heat but heat was not the problem - dark and in the 80s. Poor quality control, low standards, and an unwillingness to shut down until they could gain control of their quality was the problem. I'm sorry we won't be back. We had hoped for at least a good experience but it wasn't to be.
