I placed an order, the lady who took my order , repeated my order and when it was delivered they raised the price after they had given me the correct price. I would never order from them again. If you can't take an order , then you shouldn't be working there. Very bad server. I cancelled the order, won't make the same mistake twice. So think before placing an order with them. You may be fooled.

My wife came for the first time to get a pick up and was delighted to see the massive group waiting to watch the Inter Miami game. We got chaufa (without egg since we don’t eat it, they accommodated easily) and fries and it was great!

We tried the fried seafood and ceviche combo. The squid and shrimp were overdone and rubbery. The ceviche, while tasty, had only four small slivers of fish. The maduros were very good. We asked for the soup and the stuffed potato. The woman said they didn't have it. We didn't realize that she meant they didn't have either. Maybe we should have tried some other dishes that are possibly better.

Got there at 7:40 to order food, sign and menu say open till 10pm. Asked to get a dish with only shrimp and the chef I can hear starts complaining " doesn't he know we close soon " after that I wondered how fresh could the food be? I ordered anyways, even after seeing the high prices. Higher then any other Peruvian restaurant in a 10 mile radius, I'm thinking the food must be good. Nope, not even close. It tasted like it was the end of the day and this is what was leftover, the women behind the counter was great but I would never waste money in this restaurant again. I definitely don't recommend it, go to Rahway if your local to carteret. Hugo's is one of them

I ordered from this place 2 weeks ago. The food was HORRIBLE!!! I will never order from here again. The Tostones I ordered were fries involved oil, the chicken was tasteless and dry.
Their chicken is so good, would definitely recommend getting a combo with rice and fries. The arroz chaufa is really good too

Their lomo saltado is so good and the green sauce they give you with it is out of this world.Our go to place when we want to order dinner locally. The price and portions are so reasonable and the food is tasty!!Everything we order is always tasty and cooked well. Their lomo saltado is our favorite - hands down!
