Highly recommended food for the soul! My favorite dish is the fried whiting along with the fried shrimp. Each and every time I visit, my taste buds call for this combo! #musttry

Yeah idk what they thinking in here but I hope they stop thinking it. Soul food without season is just regular food. The memo of soul food that was missed, is the unique flavors use to epitomize the food and culture. Which is the primary reason it has “soul” to begin with. No one’s mother or grandmother put their foot in this food here. Maybe a baby toe or something. Food is fresh though but that’s it.

Monai’s Soulfood Restaurant Is An Amazing Experience. We Had Our Cousins Retirement Luncheon There From The Time We Walked In Until We Left Everything Was On Point. They Accomodated All 9 Of Us . The Food Was Delicious and The Atmosphere Colorful and Music . It Was Cool and Comfortable We Stayed for Hrs. Thank You Monai We Love You ❤️❤️

I ordered a chicken wing platter Mac and cheese and yams. Told me half our later didn’t have Mac and cheese. Then I got back to my hotel. There was no chicken wings in the plate just rice collards and yams. Terrible. Did not resolve it would not recommend this place.

I stopped by Monai’s and ordered the BBQ wings, mac n cheese, and collard greens. The wings were flavorful and the collard greens were on point—definitely hit the spot! Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was a big letdown. I paid over $20 for my meal and they gave me a cheap plastic fork, which made the experience feel less worth the price. That said, Chef Eric was amazing—super attentive and really made me feel welcomed. I'd come back for the service and those wings, but I hope they step it up on the sides and utensils.

They should not be able to call this soul food. This is old food. I orderd the whiting fish dinner. The fish smell is unbearable. It smells so bad. This must me refried fish. The yams are trash. They have a brown color, and you only taste cinnamon. They taste old and doctored. The Mac and Cheese, the cheese is running away from the noodles. The cheese is crumbled and not one ouch of seasoning. This had to be made a couple days ago. There's no way this food was fresh.

Today I went for the second time and the food was a amazing, I had whiting and shrimp with Mac & cheese and yams and it was really good and really fresh. My wife had wings and mac and she enjoyed it, and my friend had Catfish and shrimp with mac and yams and he said it was ROCKING…. This place is a hidden gem, I highly recommend it!
