I used to come here years ago and always thought it was good. Came back with my husband and we ordered a few of their speciality rolls. The rolls were huge but not in a good way. They were so big we had to deconstruct them in order to make them edible. They use a crazy amount of rice in their rolls. The fish was very fresh and everything tasted fine. It just wasn’t appetizing looking at these massive rolls with stuff piled so high. I got a New Century roll and they “dressed” the plate with tempura flakes and all of this other “stuff” which got stuck to the rice so it changed the whole flavor of my roll. It was really strange. Maybe I would go back and try simpler rolls to see if those are smaller and more edible.

I have been coming here for dinner with my friend since 2016.
The food is consistently excellent. We normally get two or three different types of sushi & a hot dish. Favorites include -seaweed salad, gyoza, tropical roll and chicken /beef/ shrimp teriyaki. 🍣

Really good food and the people are so kind— I was horribly late to pick up my food and they remade it for safety without me even asking <3 they really care about their food here

My wife and I have been coming to Mitsuba for many years and have never had a bad experience. We ate there just last night, the appetizers rolls and sashimi we got were fresh and delicious, as always. The food is excellent, the service is good, the atmosphere can be a bit noisy but nothing too outrageous. If you're looking for good sushi near Chatham, Mitsuba is a great bet.

Very good music, restaurant was supposed to close 2:30, staff allowed us to stay until 3, we left earlier, but that was really nice. Ate raw fish for the first time, restaurant gave a good impression with the sushi lunch. Calming music was indeed calming. People keep yapping about how they don't greet customers, bro it's a Japanese restaurant, they don't always greet you needy Americans ???. Bet you've been to 5+ restaurants where they didn't greet and you still gave them 5 stars. (Also they greeted anyways ?)

Kid-friendliness: Had a brother, staff interacted with him with ACTUAL INTEREST. Nice.

If you’re looking for some good sushi, try your luck at your local grocery store’s refrigerated fish section before coming here.We ordered a spicy lobster and spicy salmon roll (not sure the exact names, but both were “specialty” rolls) and were sorely disappointed. Neither had ANY flavor, let alone spiciness, and neither my husband nor I could eat more than one roll because of how bad they were (textures were off + aforementioned flavorlessness).Additionally, the service was poor. We got takeout and, to be fair, they were clearly understaffed and they had a little paper that said as much near the entryway. That said, it is unprofessional to not even acknowledge guests for ten+ minutes after they enter your establishment. Will not be giving this place any more money, I’m sorry to say. Would not recommend.

Wanted to like it. It started poorly with the tuna tartar. It was tuna tightly packed mush instead of pieces of fish. It could have been anything with food coloring on it. The rolls were huge, not tightly packed with a lot of mushy rice. Prices were not exactly cheap for this type of food.
