Basak Premium Turkish Bakery

Came here hoping to get something to celebrate our 6 month anniversary of being married, got 2 pieces of cake and were sorely disappointed by both. The raspberry smells more like raspberry than it tastes like anything and tastes stale. The pistachio had stale pistachios and tasted nothing of pistachios the cake itself is stale as well. Additionally charging $10.99 PER slice of this box cake is disgraceful, with no effort put into quality ingredients or ensuring freshness of their products. You guys should be ashamed to call yourself a bakery.

I stopped by Basak Bakery today and ordered three different kinds of börek — meat, spinach, and cheese — and I was very disappointed with both the food and the service.

I told the girl at the counter that I was going to eat outside but asked her to pack my food in a box so it would be faster. I paid right away and ordered a cup of tea, explaining that I was in a hurry. She said, “Okay, just have a seat, I’ll bring it to you.”

I waited a long time, and finally went inside to ask. She said, “Your order is ready, I just couldn’t bring it to you,” and handed me a large tray with plates and tea. Since I decided to eat outside, she didn’t even bother to open the door for me while I was carrying everything.

As for the börek — it was terrible. The meat one had a bad smell, the dough was very thick, and all of them had very little filling. I was really disappointed!!!

It was my first time going to this bakery and it was 10/10. The service was amazing and the dessert was delicious! Definitely coming back and highly recommend visiting at least once to try the desserts.

WOW ! This place is beautiful & has soo many amazing options that all look so tempting! I came for the baklava and was not disappointed! I LOVE IT! I will be coming back from Philly! I’m so happy they stay open longer than most bakery’s ! The cheesecake was so good ! Very light and almost whipped!
John helped me and he was so kind, patient and answered all my questions !

This authentic Turkish bakery is truly amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everyone here is so friendly and polite. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but the baklava is definitely my favorite – perfectly sweet and flaky. This was my second time visiting, and it’s just as wonderful as the first. I’ll definitely be coming back again! 1000/10

Delicious, an amazing selection, and the service was top notch! Their mini baklava are delicious- tons of honey! The pistachio cookies....I'm going back for those again within the week. Excellent Turkish coffee. They also have savory items, and I'm dying to try. Definitely worth a visit! Beautiful, clean store!
