I placed an order through grubhub and am very pleased! This was my first time having food from Canela Mexican Cafe & it definitely wont be the last! I ordered Enchiladas De Mole Poblano which was plenty by itself but also ordered Mexican Empanadas Tinga chicken. For those with a sensitive pallette to spice, at least what I ordered, may hit your tongue a bit much, but oh boy it all had such a clean, fresh taste.

Maybe because it was a Monday night, but it was a nice and quiet dinner with the family. The food, as always, was so good! The agua fresca fresh and refreshing. Our go-to restaurant when we want Mexican food-high praise coming from a native Californian❤️.

WORST SERVICE! I have given this place a chance time & time again thinking our service would be better. Nope! Still rude, slow younger gentleman by the name of Ronaldo C. He has gotten my order wrong numerous times & this is the the final straw for my husband & I. He hands us chips, but not our waters. We ask for the water again & he doesn't give them until ANOTHER 10 minutes passes by after already being there for 15 mins. He walks really fast by Canela's patrons for someone who is not in a hurry to get food or take anyone's order correctly. I asked for green chicken enchiladas & a carne asada Mexican taco. Carne asada being like a typical Mexican steak street taco. He brings our food & hands me a carne asada plate WITH shrimp and no enchiladas in sight. If I'm going in person, & you see my face & what I say, don't you think a server would LISTEN & even REPEAT what they wrote down?! He has a blank empty stare in his eyes and can barely speak up.
REGRETTABLE service & not worth the food! You are better off going to Luna y Sol! Cheaper, better service, & amazing atmosphere.
Update: be sure you are clear with your order & verify before you pay. The past two visits I've gotten my order wrong. When I order tacos, I strictly ask for JUST onion & cilantro on them. Both times, I've received tacos with everything BUT those two ingredients.

Many of the reviews mention that the food isn’t great, it’s overpriced, and the staff isn’t friendly, my experience was no different. One review also noted a strange smell when you walk in, which I I experienced it myself. It’s definitely not something you want to notice at a restaurant. Nothing about this place was good

Tried this spot today and became very disappointed. There were no prices on the wall menu. The menu did not match the wall menu. If you order a taco you can’t get the toppings the way you like only 2 portions. You can’t mix & match the meat/flavors if you order 2 or more tacos so they are prices individually so that you can.
We ordered Street Tacos Grilled Chicken and Ground Beef with Watermelon refreshers.
The tacos were really really dry, had no flavor and this weird cream sauce on top of the tacos. They were very small and tasteless. The person that took our order spoke very low, making it hard to order. The refreshers were okay. And the Tacos came with chips & dip.
The restaurant is cute but had a weird smell when we entered. But we did dine in and ate peacefully. If you happen to be in the area check them out. We are quite sure there’s some good things in the menu we missed.
Food is excellent. Portions are a little light but very very very good.

We came here because the reviews were mixed. I'm disappointed I wasted my time and money. I rarely come on here to disrespect people and their endeavors, but I do think, for their prices, you should know what you're getting. The 8.99 chips and salsa are tostitos chips. When those came out, we should have cut and run. The food is under seasoned and inoffensive. The Verde enchiladas were cold, flaccid, and rubbery. The tacos, while well portioned, were tasteless and lacked personality. I try to order a few things on their menu, that evidently don't exist. This place is a pass. Stop the mixed reviews.

We ordered shrimp quesadilla, grilled chicken quesadilla and a chicken burrito. Food was excellent. Food was packaged in a box that turned into a plate, with a very nice presentation. Would definitely go back and would recommend you try it!!

Server was very short with answering questions,had an attitude. Several things weren't available after waiting a few minutes to even be spoken to in the first place don't spend your money where your not appreciated as a customer

Waited 15 minutes just for them to pour my coffee in a cup. They've been very inconsistent lately and always got an attitude. Better off taking the drive to azul tequila or axo.. They also made my coffee spill everywhere in the cup holder and around the cup on purpose bc apparently they felt like I was rushing them. It's okay lol 😂
