Too much hype, not enough meat or flavor. Lillos in Hainesport is much than this place.

I recently visited Chicks after seeing it on the list of best cheesesteaks. I figured that I would give it a try as it was ranked up there towards the top. To be 100% honest, I really don't see how it's even on the list at all. Its nowhere near at the top of my list in NJ and I haven't even been to many of the heavy hitters yet. I'm not bashing the place whatsoever, but it definitely wasn't anything to write home about. Not packed like I thought it would be and it definitely needed a LOT more cheese. The taste was good but for the high price and lack of cheese, I wouldn't buy one from there again. I'm sure there other food is good as well, but just don't go there thinking that you're gonna get a mind blowing cheesesteak because that's not happening unless maybe if you add extras to it....but at that point you'll be at $30 for a cheesesteak that you could've paid a lot less for elsewhere and won't have to add on extras. I was just very disappointed after having such high expectations on the way there.

So basically if you're looking for a top notch special kind of cheesesteak, look elsewhere.

For an Out Of Towner, this was a bit of a challenge to find. But once we located we were All-In.
This is a fairly standard issue Dine and Dash setup. Nothing fancy but if you're looking for fancy, you're in the WRONG NEIGHBORHOOD.
The lady at the counter who took my order was nice enough but you could read she was a "Take No Shit" type of person. Overall pleasant personality, all the same.
Now, despite the seemingly questionable neighborhood this little shop was nestled in, it was welcoming to all comers. Again, a bit of a "rustic" atmosphere. Don't be deterred! The sandwich is worth it.
Seating is kinda school cafeteria style with some booths and separate tables.
Now, some of what I described to you may sound dreary or negative.
But let me tell you something else:
My Italian Hoagie was as long as my forearm. I mean, this thing was HUGE.
The deli meats were fresh, the lettuce was green, the tomatoes were RED, for God's sake! Just the way it's SUPPOSED TO BE. Winner!!
Don't sleep on this place! I have a Co-worker who can't shut up about it. LOL

Parking: Parking can be a PAIN IN THE ASS there. Like anything else, it depends on what time you go there.

Kid-friendliness: Children should be supervised by their parents or a legal guardian.

Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult to say.

My wife and I went this morning for breakfast, what a horrible disappointment. My wifes breakfast was done probably 15 minutes before mine, her breakfast was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. The starr could care less, we don't recommend this place at all, never going back. Very selfish staff, I work in a sandwich shop and that would never happen there. Yes they have been there for ever and we know they don't care, what a shame,!!!

A cheesesteak should have cheese on it. Driest cheesesteak I ever had. Maybe one slice of cheese on it?

Sadly a shadow of its former self. Been coming here pretty much my entire life and while the cheesesteaks are still the best in the philly area by a longshot, their subs leave much to be desired. Quality of ingredients has dropped drastically in the last 5 years and they never seem to get my order right. Ive been getting the same sub there for 20 years and now every other time they get it wrong and put something that I did not ask for on it.

If you're looking for a cheesesteak, this is the spot. If you want a sub however, go elsewhere.

This was always my go to place. I recommend their buffalo chicken cheesesteak to everyone I know. It was the last place I ate before everything shut down before Covid. However, today I ordered my beloved buffalo chicken cheesesteak and a turkey hoagie through Uber eats. First: my hoagie was completely missing from my order. Second: the cheesesteak was not how I remember it. It tasted like any buffalo chicken cheesesteak at any pizza place. Disappointed, but will give them another shot sometime in the future.

Worst italian hoagie I ever had in my life! Meats and cheese had zero flavor. Waste of money

Mom and POP spots always have the best food, and Chick's definitely qualifies! Best cheese steak in the area hands down.

Best Chicken Cheesesteak on East Coast. Can’t get through the work week without one. Hardworking staff and great service everyday

Very good but too expensive to keep frequenting. Just got two sandwiches and two drinks and it was $35. I'm not saying they're gouging me particularly but things in general are just too expensive now to eat out. It was good but I won't be back anytime soon. To no fault of theirs

Today was the first time trying this deli. I went at 8:30 A.M. Keep in mind the time. I ordered a Salami hoagie, lunch time came around and I opened my sandwich and bit into it and the the bread was hard as a rock. Not only was it hard it was crumbling at every bit, which means it was stale. I did not call back or take it back because I work 50 mins away. For $12 you should not sale stale bread at 8:30 in the morning.
