I wouldn’t post this normally. However, we (Carl and I and two friends) experienced a situation last evening at a restaurant called Gambino’s on Route 38 in Cherry Hill, NJ. I made reservations for 5:30 PM. Three of us ordered ravioli and one ordered capalini and meatballs.
I ordered my ravioli with sauce/gravy on the side. The cook/Owner brings mine to the table and starts with me because I ordered mine with sauce/gravy on the side and uses his Italian fingers at me and stated in Italy they would not serve you if you ordered sauce on the side.
So we proceed to eat and talk. He pacing back and forth the whole time we are eating and making comments about that we are still eating and that we are talking.
It is a small restaurant and we were very aware of our surroundings if they needed our table.
Keep in mind that we asked for more bread to dip in the sauce/gravy.
Also, we were only there from 5:30 PM until 7:15 PM
We left. I had to call while I was alone from my husband and friends to speak to the Man/Owner on how we were treated. He was just as rude on the phone as he was while we were at the restaurant.
He started stating that he will not serve us if we only order dinner of $15.99 as well as sauce on the side or take out anything from a platter that is on the menu.
He stated we should have only been at his restaurant for a hour. Therefore, he should tell his customers how long they should stay according to the number of people in the party being seated.
Also, if we wanted ravioli then we should have made them at home. I stated you should take the ravioli off the menu and tell the people as they come in that you must order a three course meal with no exceptions.
I stated people have stomach issues, allergies, etc. You can not expect people to eat the way you prepare your dishes because you have a love for food. He just did not want to except what I was saying.
He stated we cost him monies because we took a table at his restaurant and we only ordered diner and extra pizza bread. We did not order appetizers, dessert nor coffee.
Our friend had a coupon for 10% off the check. It did not state on a Friday night. He would not honor it and threw his hands up in discuss and stated next week it will all change.
I could not believe how rude he was and disrespectful. As well as what was coming out of his mouth.
Then his wife got on the phone and try to smooth things over.
They never stated that come back in and we would make it right.
I told them I was putting it out there on Facebook and passing the word on how we were treated and suggesting not to eat at Gambino’s.

Food is delicious and comes out hot! Lost a star due to lack of staff. Waitress was very nice but she seemed overwhelmed. It was father’s day, she should have had some help. Also the restaurant was silent. There was no music playing or the tv wasn’t on. It was eerily quiet at times so it made it seem like everything took forever. But the food itself was great!

Great food and very friendly. I had a great time with my son Shaun and the OHara’s / Motto’s / Brooks and Smith families. Can’t wait to Fly back in this summer and have another great meal with friends.
