Tried ordering. Literally was called and found out they were out of everything I ordered & then didn’t know how to give me a refund. So I had to wait for the charges to pend before I could dispute it. I’ve never heard of that before.

Fried shrimp: The shrimp was tender and well seasoned throughout. The batter was light and flavorful yet still crunchy. Chicken Leg: The chicken leg was like 10x the size of kfc chicken. It's actually bigger than any of the fast food spot or local soul food spots that I can think of. "The soul food factory" used to have nice size and chicken and "The Weekend Spot" may still have some nice size kettle chicken. I had it delivered so I don't know what the set up is but this wasn't one of these spots with the chicken under the lamp because mines came fresh, crispy, and hot. It was tasty chicken. Mac and cheese: Their Mac has the creaminess of the stove top box versions but it's also infused with actual real cheese imbedded so you have a creamy texture along with the stringy cheddar cheese that gives baked Mac its authenticity. So it feels like a hybrid mac that may be more palatable to a general audience. Seafood Salad: It was good more on the acidic than I personally prefer but not extremely tart so it's not an issue. Plus that's something I can rectify at home with a drizzle of honey. Yellow Rice: Their yellow rice tasted more plain than the yellow rice I'm used to. Since I ate it in combination with the salmon that wasn't an issue. I just wouldn't eat it by itself as a side dish. Its more of complement side to a dish with a meat. Salmon: It was tasty, tender, and cooked well. Strawberry Cake: So good! Soft and moist. First issue is it's hard finding strawberry cake. Second issue is when I do find it in these soul food spots they be STALE, DRY, and CRUMBLY! I should've bought two cakes but I decided to be conservative this time because all the times I got played and it bites me in the butt.

1st visit, had whiting platter with rice, Kale, chickpeas, DELICIOUS! If you dislike kale you will like Tavia's, looking forward to returning & trying something new.

The 10 piece fried chicken is a tremendous tasty deal! Excellant fried fish with delicious sides. Scrumptious cheese cake to boot. My next order is the meatloaf. Thankful for decent food in this area!

Came to visit New Jersey by way of the Midwest to visit family and craved authentic Trinidadian cuisine, especially roti that I cannot find in the Midwest. Loved everything I ate and hope to make a trip back to have it again.
