I had an extremely unfortunate experience here. As I walked in, there was a man in line in front of me but other than that the store was empty. We waited for about 5 minutes and then he started being helped. After about 15 minutes of me waiting a man enters in the store behind me. He is immediately greeted and the worker asks what he could get him. The customer asked me if I had been helped yet and when I said no the worker didn’t bat an eye. I was completely skipped over and was treated invisible. The man got his food and left and about 5 minutes after that I was helped by a young man who saw the situation and apologized. It was really hard to view this as a misunderstanding because it felt a bit intentional as the store was not busy. Bagel tasted fine but i will not be returning to this location unfortunately after my experience.

This place is unbelievable. I came here with my mom around Christmas time and had a decent experience. Sandwiches were good, place was busy, and they even gave us a few free bagels because they were closing up soon. So this past weekend I brought my father thinking we’d have a similar experience. Well, first, we walked in at 2:10pm and it looked like they were already closed up. I asked and said “are you closed?” And the woman at the front said “oh no we’re not.” That was the first opportunity they had to tell us they would be closing by 3p. Then we ordered a container of tuna salad and a hot pastrami sandwich. We told them we would like to eat there instead of take out, they said “no problem”. That was their second opportunity to say “ok but just so you know we are closing in 30 minutes.” Then, the food came. The tuna was basic tuna salad. The pastrami sandwich however was awful. Like three pieces pastrami. Yellow mustard instead of spicy golden. And when the woman asked my father “do you want anything else?” after he ordered his sandwich, he said sure, I’ll take some coleslaw. She had them put it ON the sandwich. Wtf? Wouldn’t you ask someone that? So now we’re eating this very mediocre almost bad lunch, and at 2:55 we’re told, sorry we’re closing up if you could finish and leave. We asked for 5 minutes and 5 minutes later, someone who must’ve been the owner, an older bald gentleman with glasses comes into the dining room, says “come on guy we’re closed I want to go home I’ve been here since 5 o’clock and I live in New York.” And then proceeded to shut the lights off on us. I said someone at any point of time especially when we walked in, ordered, said we were dining in, or any time could’ve said, and we close at 3. The bad food would’ve been enough for us to not come back, the god awful service will definitely never have us come back. Terrible.

Ordered a bagel with no ketchup
They put ketchup on, realized their mistake and instead of giving me a new bagel they wiped it off….
Also the woman that took the order wouldn’t give it to my husband when it was ready. Kept saying it wasn’t his order. They went back and forth a few times until the cashier stepped in and told her it was in fact, his order.
Great bagels except ppl cut in line all the time bc no order and even for pickup, and I have to triple confirm my order a few times. I'm rly upset bc I tried talking to them about it and I got blatantly ignored.

I’ve tried this place a few times because it definitely has some fans. I find the bagels doughy and undercooked. They’re really lazy with the cream cheese application. This is the second time they got it wrong. I asked for plain once and I got veggie cream cheese. Today I asked for jalapeno cream cheese and got green olives. The staff does not have a friendly attitude either. I would not recommend. Cranford bagel is so much better.
