I passed by this place many times, I never tried it due to the menu prices I saw online. That said, the food did look decent and I am willing to give anything a try once. If it is good, who knows maybe we would come back. Before I get into anything, I will say we were literally the only people at the restaurant at the time so there was no extreme pressure/demand. We got a few appetizers (the calamari and a shrimp dish). They came out at a normal time, and the calamari was pretty good. I was not a fan of the shrimp, but only because they left the tails on which is just a personal preference. Usually I ask if it is served with the tail off before ordering, but I was in a group and we were sharing so it was fine. Our main courses took forever to come out which was ridiculous because there was nobody else there. During that time, we see the staff getting all social going in and out of the back for almost an hour. We are thinking what could they be doing? It is just us here and nothing is coming out. We actually did say something to the server because it was getting to be too much of a wait. It is not even just that we were in a rush, but respect our time at least. When our food came out, they brought everyone’s food except for one person and walked away as if that was normal. We were stunned and called the waiter back over to explain that we are kind of missing a meal. If you are going to make us wait that long, bring us the food at the same time. We sat there with food in front of us for a full ten minutes before our other guest got his food. I know what some people may be thinking, if you were that hungry why not just start eating I am sure the other guest did not mind. Those of you with that argument are wrong. If we are spending this kind of money, I want our food out at the same time so that we can all enjoy it together. I will spend a quarter of the money on takeout somewhere else if we are going with that style but this is a restaurant, we eat at the same time. The only explanation we received was that there was a problem. Well I can totally understand there was a ton of pressure in this packed restaurant demanding crazy fast service (TOTAL SARCASM). The gyro I received was okay, but the meat was dry. It was seasoned, but just not really moist or worth the money to me. The greek fries were the best part which is sad because they were probably the cheapest part of my meal. If I can pinpoint the parts of the meal I enjoyed, it was the calamari and greek fries. Neither of those items were worth it when you add the price up together, as well as the amount of time it took for us to get our food. We asked for the check at the end joking amongst ourselves that they ignored us long enough, but there was some truth to that. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and never have seen a place disregard the only guests they have like this place did. My gut all these years were correct, and my gut was also unsatisfied after that meal. The AVO is short for avoid because it is exactly what I will do. That is another positive as well, that the name does warn you LOL. There are a ton of other restaurants on Anderson Ave alone where you can get similar food, skip this one unless you don’t value you're time or money.

I ordered food by uber eats and the delivery guy told me that the owner didnt allow him to wait for the order inside the restaurant and approached him in a disrespectful manner, making him leave the establishment to wait for the order outside. It seems disrespectful to me since the delivery people are doing their job correctly. Shame and shame. He should treat the people like this. people who are also customers this is unacceptable I will not order food here again

I recently ordered food through Uber Eats, and my delivery driver told me that your restaurant refused to let him use the restroom, citing that he needed to be a customer to do so. I was shocked and disappointed by this treatment. As a human being who is working hard to deliver food from your establishment, I believe it's basic decency to allow him to use the facilities, especially during pickup. Moreover, considering the restaurant was empty at the time, it's even more perplexing. After the challenges faced by service workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, I expect more appreciation and understanding from your establishment. I hope you will reconsider your policy and treat delivery drivers with the respect they deserve.

For someone who eats out 4 - 5 times a week, this place has one of the most delicious dishes in the area… i highly recommend the lentil soup and the shish kebab… also the owners are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

The staff is pleasant and friendly. I originally wanted to get the salmon but I was told that it had to be cooked medium/well to well done after I asked for rare. Therefore I switched my order to the octopus. It was decently grilled and pretty tender. Unfortunately , it was served over a bed of French fries. A little unusual, not in a good way. Since it was an appetizer, I needed to order a separate side with it. I chose the grilled vegetables for $14. It was so small! Two pieces of broccoli, a piece of bell pepper, a piece onion and a mushroom. The hanger steak was done nicely but not worth &48.
