My wife and I tried the tonkotsu ramen and the blackbeard ramen. Both were just okay — nothing that really stood out. The blackbeard ramen had a strong garlic taste, and both bowls were a bit too salty for our preference (probably should’ve asked for less salt). We’ve been searching for a go-to ramen spot in NJ, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, an average experience.

Update: still the best ramen in the area haha.
This place is easily the best ramen in the area. The different broths are all flavorful yet very different so there's something for everyone.

Just went there yesterday for the first time although pass by often.
Was super quiet inside which was fine but surprising.
Got the Blackbeard ramen and Calpico(for a little more taste of Japan)
It was delicious- heavily garlic flavored as the menu listed but not overpowering.
Really great Ramen spot - there are a couple in this area and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service.

This place was pretty good. We are traveling and wanted to get some ramen and this is a close one to the shop we have back in our home town. At first, the “coldness” of the server threw us off but at the end of it we actually liked the server wasn’t doing the “fake-nice customer service” stuff like usual. It was a new experience that we ended up enjoying. The food was good but unfortunately for my partner, the ramen doesn’t come with an egg already so you have to order it and we didn’t realize until after. Food was tasty and good portion for a smaller person with the regular size and a good portion for a person who can eat a little more getting the larger size. The gyoza on the other hand was so-so. Thank you!

Everything went okay.
If I could give a zero to this place I would. This place is as cheap as they come but let me start off by the service. The manager/owner is extremely rude. He likes to throw the menu you at you when you are seated. If you read some of the other 1-2 star review they also mention the service to be poor.
The portion and pricing. I think the it is the only ramen place outside of ippudo in the city that charge extra for EGGs as a topping- as in it does not come in the ramen to begin with. The place is small, dark, and gives off a really cold vibe. I used to come here a few times when they first opened back In early 2010s but this place has fell off hard. Hats off you guys who actually like this place.

By far the best broth and the ramen smells authentic, they way it should. In this region, I would say this is the best ramen!

Tonkotsu, Miso ramen, Rice, and Green Curry are really good. Definitely going back to try other dishes next time! (2 years ago, 5 stars)
Edit, what used to be a nice dine-in ramen restaurant is always temporarily closed. I ordered takeout once, but my family said their order was a bit more salty than liked.

Easily my favorite ramen place in NJ.
It’s a cute little (almost)hidden place in cliffside park.
Their green curry and black beard ramen is excellent. I’ve been to Japan many times and this is the closest you’ll get to the real thing.
Highly recommend!

I love Blackbeard. This is the best ramen in NJ in my opinion! I had the Blackbeard Ramen most recently while my partner had the Green Curry Ramen. The service is always friendly and fast. Each bowl tastes amazing. The chashu and noodles are perfectly cooked and the broth is flavorful. I also loved the Chicken Bun I had as an appetizer. Support small biz, this place is 10/10!

I usually get the tonkotsu ramen. Only 2 Ramen places around this part of the state gets my business, and Blackbeard is one of them. The place has a nice vibe too.
I hope they add homemade tea to the menu, but they do serve tea bags with hot water.
I also tried their shrimp shumai and cha-don and they're great.
