This was such a fortuitous accident. We stumbled upon it when looking for a place to eat after going to Sojo Spa. It was the perfect meal. The steak Anticucho appetizer with chimichurri was so delicious and tender. The ceviche was artistic and divine. And the “paella” arroz con mariscos almost melted in your mouth. One of the creamiest, most delicious paellas I have had, including in comparison to the ones I’ve enjoyed in Spain.

This is a hidden gem that you should not miss if you’re in the area! The staff is so friendly. And the food is so memorable. I forgot to take more pics because we were so focused on the flavor experience. I can’t wait to go back!

The service here was phenomenal, but the food experience was mixed.

Market Oysters – 3.75/5: Good overall, but a bit fishy if you don’t add enough lime

Calamari – 2.75/5: Looked amazing, but the batter tasted old and made the whole dish feel off. The potatoes on the side weren’t great either

Ceviche Minka Nikkei – 4.5/5: loved this!! super flavorful and easily one of the highlights

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo – 4.25/5: Fresh and tasty, but a little too heavy on the onions for my preference

Paella – 4.25/5: My partner loved it, good seafood to rice ratio and well cooked. For me, it had too much cilantro, and the portion was on the smaller side

Skirt Steak – 4.75/5: My favorite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked steak, delicious flavor, great mashed potatoes, and the Shanghai veggie were nicely charred

My friend brought me here to celebrate my birthday, and wow, the food was incredible! Every single dish was amazing, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I left. I told my coworker about it the next day, and she went right away. She texted me “100/10.” This is definitely one of my new favorite spots in North Jersey!

Stopped by for brunch and had the pan con chicharrón and chicha morada, absolutely delicious! The food was mouth-watering, the service was friendly and attentive, and the decor was beautiful. Easily the best Peruvian spot in the area. I’ll definitely be back for dinner soon!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there on a Sat night, it was a cute cozy place. The food was good with lots of flavor, spicy, citrusy, herbs... Our server Paz was very attentive and made the experience extra special. BYOB is a big plus because they make yummy mocktails you can add your own alcohol. It wasn't too busy, we felt at ease without being rushed.
Will def go back to try more dishes.

Not to be dramatic or anything, but this might be the best restaurant we’ve eaten at in the larger Cliffside Park area.

It’s so nice because it’s understated and very low-key. Not pretentious at all.

We had the pork belly fried rice, the classic Avicii, and the wings. Doesn’t sound like much, but my goodness was a delicious.

Easily surpasses anything you would find in the city that’s offering the same items.

I brought my husband to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate his birthday. It was a great choice. When we walked in the atmosphere was warm, cozy and friendly. Our servers Pass and Louise were super friendly and knowledgeable not only about the menu but about the restaurant and its history. Everything was delicious. We ordered seafood ceviche, the Lomo Saltado with filet mignon , and the jalea. The canchas were the high quality ones (roasted corn appetizers). We’re already planning to return with our friends and family. Just one thing, BYOB.

Minka Nikkei in Cliffside Park is a hidden gem that perfectly blends Peruvian spice with Japanese umami. Every dish feels intentional creative, balanced, and beautifully plated. You can really taste the care in each bite.

We loved the Ceviche Minka Nikkei with mahi mahi and bright aji amarillo, and the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo was incredibly fresh and silky. The Nigiri Nikkei Plate brought such a fun twist on traditional sushi, and the Miso Glazed Halibut was perfectly cooked with that rich miso butter sauce. The Seco Norteño (braised short rib) was melt-in-your-mouth good.

It’s family-owned, BYOB, and the atmosphere feels cozy yet elevated the kind of spot you instantly want to come back to. Bring your own wine or make a mocktail everything here pairs beautifully. Highly recommend!

Top quality food and service. Tried the brunch dishes. Pan con Chicharon, Tamal, Picanha a lo pobre. Everything is well seasoned, top quality ingredients and fresh. The best tamal I’ve had around here. Quality over quantity and a pristine neat place with excellent service. The lucuma ice cream was delicious and not the artificial flavored one. If you want a mountain of cheap food and artificial flavoring, head to a cheap place. This is place is a top notch gem. I cannot wait to try all the other items on the menu.

Ultra high quality food, modern interpretations of traditional dishes with nice portion size to order a full course meal. Their lucuma ice cream is excellent and goes well with their steak dishes. Peruvian Japanese fusion done right.

Amazing experience!!! Love the food. The service and atmosphere 👌🏼 we loved every single dish and loved the byob with the option to make our drink with the Amazing mixers they offered. Can't wait to come back.
