Came here on a whim, I had a sweet craving kicking in. On Saturday evening The lady with the beautiful eyes who was super nice and welcoming helped me since it was my first time there. I was very pleased with the pastries, dessert and cookies I took home with me. Incredibly delicious beyond words. I had the chocolate coconut macaroon type cookies that have a lime filling, my taste buds were in heaven. The pistachio baklava authentic and divine, and the Turkish custard which I believe is kazandibi was so good I don't know how to describe it but it was delightful. I will definitely be returning to this gem of a bakery. I must have come coffee next time.

Product is always fresh, place is clean, staff is courteous. It's so nice even their competitors come here for tea after hours, which makes me think that's where the bad reviews come from.

I came for the first time with the advice of my friends, but I was disappointed. I'm sorry to say the cakes, it was stale, the 45-minute road really ended in a disappointment. I don't think I'll come again. I hope you will consider these problems as soon as possible.

This place truly stands out for its exceptional staff warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The variety of desserts is impressive, not only in flavor but in presentation. Each one is so beautifully crafted, it feels almost too pretty to eat. It’s always a must for me to visit every time I’m in New Jersey!

We had breakfast at Saray Bakery and absolutely loved it! Everything was so fresh and delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We mentioned that we were heading back to Texas, and they even gave us a gift for the road — such a thoughtful gesture! Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. Thank you for making our morning special! ❤️

Saray Bakery, a renowned culinary establishment with deep roots in Turkish tradition, has earned widespread acclaim for its exceptional rice pudding, or sütlaç. What sets Saray’s rice pudding apart is not just its adherence to authentic methods but its ability to elevate a simple, humble dessert into a work of art. Through careful ingredient selection, masterful technique, and a dedication to consistency, the bakery has transformed this traditional sweet into a signature dish that draws locals and tourists alike.
At the heart of Saray Bakery’s rice pudding success lies their commitment to quality ingredients. They use only the freshest whole milk, medium-grain rice, and pure cane sugar. Unlike mass-produced puddings, Saray emphasizes using full-fat milk, which provides a rich, creamy texture. The rice is soaked and simmered slowly to ensure it breaks down just enough to thicken the pudding naturally without becoming mushy. This careful handling of ingredients is key to achieving the velvety consistency that defines their recipe.
Technique is another cornerstone of Saray’s mastery. The chefs at Saray follow time-honored cooking methods passed down through generations, balancing tradition with precise timing. The pudding is gently stirred over low heat for hours, avoiding shortcuts like cornstarch or artificial thickeners. Once cooked, it is poured into individual clay dishes and finished in the oven to create the signature golden-brown crust on top—a delicate touch that adds both flavor and texture.
Beyond technique and ingredients, Saray Bakery’s success also stems from their unwavering consistency. Whether one visits on a quiet weekday afternoon or during a bustling holiday, the rice pudding always tastes exactly as expected—smooth, comforting, and perfectly sweetened. This reliability builds customer trust and loyalty. Many patrons return not just for the flavor, but for the nostalgic feeling that each bowl brings, evoking memories of family kitchens and home-cooked meals.
In conclusion, Saray Bakery has mastered the art of rice pudding by staying true to tradition, focusing on quality, and refusing to compromise on process. Their rice pudding is more than a dessert; it’s a testament to the power of craftsmanship and cultural heritage. In a world increasingly dominated by fast food and artificial flavors, Saray’s approach is a refreshing reminder that excellence comes from patience, precision, and passion.

I always come here, the desserts are really good, though the prices are a bit high. They used to have Turkish staff, and if your English wasn’t great, you could easily ask them about the ingredients. Lately, however, I’ve noticed that the curvy latino woman with glasses, comes across a bit rude. One time, I was clearly the first customer in line, just as I was about to order my coffee (she cut me off and)… she told me to “wait a minute” and skipped over me to ask the next (foreign) customer for their opinion. I was left mid-sentence and felt really bad. Even though I kept coming back hoping I might see another staff member who treats customers with more kindness, unfortunately, it’s always the same one. I probably won’t be coming back because I don’t want to tolerate that kind of behavior, even though the desserts are truly amazing.

I’ve been here twice and both times the food was outstanding… the first time two of the employees took their time to explain what everything was because while I’ve been to Turkey - I’m not Turkish. They were so sweet and patient with me… I ended up getting a bagel looking round bread with sesame seeds on top and melted cheese inside SO GOOD! I also bought a small pistachio cheesecake which was heaven sent. The second time I went the employee I dealt with wasn’t as nice but the food was just as good..: this time I got a bigger cake and the same round bread. I am heading back today for a 3rd time!
