If you're a fan of the fusion of Chinese-Peruvian cuisine, Chifa Clifton is a restaurant worth trying, though with some details that could be improved. The place is small but cozy, with a calm atmosphere. The service was good, and the waiter kindly answered all our questions.
As for the food, we tried several dishes. The *tallarín saltado* with chicken pieces was one of the highlights, with a delicious flavor that perfectly blends traditional Chinese and Peruvian ingredients. We also had the *pollo chijaukai*, which was well-prepared with a pleasant seasoning. The *wantan soup* was also tasty, with well-cooked wantons and a flavorful broth.
However, the *arroz chaufa* was somewhat disappointing. Although not bad, it seemed too simple, lacking the depth of flavor one expects from this dish. They should definitely focus on improving its preparation.
One thing that surprised me negatively was that they don't offer *natural chicha*. Instead, they only have bottled versions, which are overly sugary and don't do justice to such a traditional and refreshing beverage from Peruvian culture.
Overall, Chifa Clifton isn’t bad. It offers some good dishes, though it could improve in certain areas, like the arroz chaufa and drink options. It’s a decent choice if you find yourself in New Jersey and want to try some Chinese-Peruvian fusion flavors, but with a few areas to improve.
Loved this place best fusion Peruvian restaurant
This is a no frills peruvian Chinese place, and it is very good. I went with a group of very judgy peruvians who agreed the food was excellent.
The atmosphere is easygoing, our waitress was so sweet, calm and helpful even in the chaos of 10 peruvian tias at one table (ifykyk!).
The bathroom is accessed from outside, but whatever, it's not a big deal.
The restaurant is small so if a big group I'd suggest calling in advance.
They make the food to order so it can be a bit of a wait for large groups, but the freshness and flavours.
I'd go back, my tias and cousins would go back...Definitely recommend.
Very good food, I came from Utah just to eat chifa and the taste was very good, I recommend it, just one observation about the wantan soup, which was very good, if they added Chinese noodles it would be the same as the one in Peru!!!

I'm Peruvian and the one thing that's hard to find for myself is authentic Chinese Peruvian food. Now for my birthday I chose to try this restaurant out and see if it's a "diamond in a rough." Needless to say, the staff seem to be untrained, so I get that the lady behind the counter is a bit obvious to handling a huge party (in her defense this place is small). Now concerning the atmosphere, the place is small and is more design for in/out customers. Even the bathroom was a terrible inconvenience, you have to go outside to the back entrance, and it is still cold outside. Not a great dining experience, again, I wanted to give them a try, so I picked them, and we ordered....For the food quality, there was up and downs. Now the traditional Peruvian dish like Lomo Saltado, Tallarin Saltdao, and Arroz Chaufa was delicious. The Chinese Peruvian dish like the Chijaukay was not that impressive. They added too much salt and did not take into account that American soy sauce has more salt than the authentic Peruvian soy sauce. Not to mention that the chicken was cold and reheated because the crumbs was tough. Another dish was the Tipakay, the sauce would have been delicious, but they should have cooked the chicken first before adding the sauce because the juice of the chicken thin out the favor. Chicken with Pina was good, but it could have been better for the same reason with the Tipakay. As I mentioned, this is a small place and the kitchen I would have imagined was not prepared for a huge party (I did give them a heads up 24 hours prior). Still, if you want to be successful, you have to think big and be ready for opportunities like this. My review may not carry weight, but the point is every customer's opinion matter, and it adds up. As a result, I'm the only one in the group giving this ok review. If it was better, they would have gotten 11 great reviews.

100% do not recommend. I ordered a chaufa special with chicken and meat, needless to say it was a disaster. There was barely any if no meat or chicken at all. The chicken and meat that was there was very very small you could barely see it. Way overpriced! With the $40 I wasted here, bc that’s what it was a waste I could’ve went to my local Chinese food and got better food. Stay away from this place if you don’t want to get ripped off.
