The beer is decent. We had the Cherry Daedalion and the Beira. We were content with both. We were told there were no flights here which was a bummer and kind of confusing because they had pictures of flights online. AND If you’re into a really strong scent of wet dog this place is for you. It assaults your nares as soon as you walk in and doesn’t dissipate. There’s no going nose blind. It’s everywhere. The smell of swamp dog was so over powering I couldn’t smell my beer. We didn’t finish it and left. There were so many good reviews of this place that we had high hopes.
We are in the area and love trying breweries. After a quick search of the local offerings, Ghost Hawk was at the top of the list. I was willing to make the 15m drive to check it out because of rave reviews of the vibes and beer. It’s dark and dank which I guess is good for some hops. It smelled like a wet dog but I didn’t see one. Everyone that works here is a zombie as were all the customers (maybe employees? I think they were drinking too? Which is cool but like come on and say hi if I’m about to spend money here). Cool if that’s your jam but it’s not mine.
Ghost Hawk Brewing in Clifton, NJ, offers a solid selection of craft beers in a laid-back, unpretentious setting. While I’m not the biggest beer enthusiast, I can appreciate their creative twists on traditional styles, especially their chocolate and rum-infused IPAs.
These beers manage to balance the usual hoppy bitterness of an IPA with a smooth, rich flavor that’s definitely worth trying, even if you’re not typically an IPA person.
Great spot
I was in the area and decided to stop in for a brew and WOW! I'M SUPER pleased with this overall experience! There was a grill for food outside in the parking lot, and when I walked in, I saw right away that this was the real deal brewery. It was playing my type of music, I was well greeted by the bar tender, and the beer was GREAT! I'm an IPA guy, I went with the APEX Predator, and it might have been the best IPA I ever had. Rich New England style with the right amount of foam that showed the quality of the brew.
You definitely gotta take a brew stop here!
They share a building with a distillery. 10 beers on tap. The taproom is dark, and close. Beer was good. Great staff. Stop in for some good, no frills beer
Hands down one of the greatest breweries in the area!!! Top tier crew! Beers are always on point. Great atmosphere especially for an old skater like me
Best beer in the tri-state
cozy place and good beer. I liked it. I will return.
Great beer but loses a star because the service was unwelcoming. Spent over 100$ on merch but the bartender kept rolling his eyes every time I would ask to see or go get something. Dude, you’re not doing me a favor, this is your job. Other than that great beer and cool merch.

Solid place that makes actual beer. Brown Nut Ale was amazing and Saison was out of control good. Chill vibes and not pretentious whatsoever. Looking forward to my next trip back.
Nice beer selection and great people! Definetly come back soon!
This place is awesome.
The beer selection was really good (went with the NE IPA). It’s nice to be able to drink and see all the equipment that’s used to make the beer.
They had a food truck rolling in just as we left but it’s nice to have the food options. They have a couple coolers that you pick up some beer to go.
This is such an amazing crew! Good vibes, great tasting beer!
I was absolutely blown away by Ghost Hawk during my recent stay in NJ. I loved the fact that they had a wide variety of styles on tap ranging from traditional offerings to more modern styles. My favorite was definitely their Grisette with Juniper & Sage.
Super good vibe here. There was a food truck on site while I was there. And they put on lots of different events. I'd definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area.
