I grew up with The Corral… best fries with cheese and sauce! I moved away and when ever I come back I stop in, breakfast, lunch, or dinner I make sure to stop in for a friendly chat and a delicious meal.
However, I stopped in this weekend and i’m sad to say it was disgusting! What happened? New owner? & a New cook? I don’t know but they wrecked our order cheddar cheese on everything was terrible! Fries with cheese and sauce, with cheddar cheese? Terrible! That cheese stiffed up instantly, the sauce was flavorless.
Really ruined our experience!!! Hope it was a fluke and not a change in recipe!

I've been visiting the Coral on and off for over 20 years and never really had a bad experience. That is until today. I stopped in for lunch and ordered crispy chili/cheese fries and the super burger.
Let's start with the fries. They were definitely crispy but the chili sauce had somewhat of an orange color to it and tasted bland. The cheese was slapped on top of the fries and slammed in a microwave,(waitress confirmed that is what they do) and that's a big No No in my book. None the less the cheese never melted and by the time it got to the table it was coagulated.
The burger, wait that's suppose to be the SUPER Burger. There was nothing super about it. The only thing that had any taste to it were the fried onions. The burger patty was completely taste less. It would have been more palatable if you tossed out the meat patty and had yourself an onion/cheese sandwich.
Guess next time I'll just stick with breakfast.......

Pretty average diner. Place was kinda empty but there was a lot of take out orders that I saw while I was there. Food was alright. Got the 3 egg platter which was good. Coffee was not the best but it’s diner coffee.
Service was missing. Had to flag the staff down if you needed anything. There was wait staff who was nice but again, missing.
Ambiance is nothing to write home about. Generic diner

Bun was stale, dog was difficult to eat, chili tasted like cardboard. Had significant difficulty finishing the entire thing. Should have just left it half eaten. Do not even try this,

The New Corral is basically a diner with really good Texas hot dogs and the disco fries are really good. The service was great and the prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere is very old school which I am a fan of. I would highly recommend the New

I order my food online and my whole order came wrong, then I called to see if they can give me my order correct and I can bring the one I got and the guy said no and that he closed already. They close at 10pm and it was 9:56, they could’ve done something. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
First time ever going here was very good definitely recommend I had roast beef and gravy with fries
Stopped in to New Corral after leaving the city from a Broadway show and remembering there was one more "all the way dog" spot I wanted to hit in Clifton. Went to Rutt's and Hot Grill a couple years back and have been meaning to come here for a while. Cool little old diner style place and the woman who was our server was friendly and attentive.Tried out the All the Way dogs and some fries and my son got a grilled cheese. He said he really enjoyed the grilled cheese and he ate most of the fries himself haha. The dogs were solid, I'd put them right on par with the other spots locally honestly. I'm sure I'll get my head taken off by the "rippers from Rutt's are the best things ever" crowd, but the thing that makes the ripper for me is the yellow cabbage relish...the dog itself I didn't find to be any better than grabbing a dog here. The chili sauce had a great flavor but it wasn't super meaty. Dogs were cooked well and the rolls were fresh. All in all I would say that these are definitely something to stop in for when in the area. Better or worse than Rutt's or Hot Grill? I don't know, I enjoyed them all honestly.
