Watched a few videos that detail the four different levels of how cooked the dogs are and was excited to check it out. Ordered two "rippers" and two "wellies" which I was assuming like I watched, hot dogs cooked so the casing ripped open and the wellie was well done and more crunchy. The lady looked at me and said, "so you want four hot dogs." Upon receiving the meal, the hot dogs were barely warm, wrinkly, and none of them were cracked or well done. I was very disappointed, place is over hyped.

Rutt’s Hut is a classic spot for anyone looking to try their famous ‘ripper’ hot dogs or a solid chili cheese dog. The food is good, and the prices are very reasonable, but it doesn’t quite live up to all the hype for me. One thing to note: it’s cash only, but there is an ATM on-site if you need it. The old-school, no-frills vibe adds to the experience, making it worth a visit if you’re in the area and want to check out a New Jersey food landmark!
A Classic hot dog: 'Ripper' never fails to satisfy. Very 'rustic.' The restaurant food is a good deal. Especially the Duck L'Orange. Wednesday seems the ideal day. But don't wait till Tuesday to go! And Wednesday before Thanksgiving is very special! Pre CoVID-19 it was open LATE! I think it will go back to that eventually, I hope! You would've seen bikers and even a wedding party, after the reception, late night grabbing a bite to help sbber up or satify 'the munchies or just not to end the night, yet!' Or all the above!
