As a student, I recently had a truly revolting experience at San Remo Pizza in Clifton, NJ, that I feel compelled to share. A fellow classmate ordered two slices of plain pizza from this establishment, and upon consuming halfway through, discovered a black speck. What we initially thought was a burnt piece of crust turned out to be an ant. Yes, you read that correctly—an ant in the pizza.Naturally, this appalling discovery prompted us to inspect the rest of the slices, which left us all feeling queasy. Taking the remains back to the pizza parlor, we requested a refund from the hostess. To our dismay, the hostess informed us that she had to call the owner. After what seemed like an eternity, the owner's response was shockingly callous—he advised the hostess not to issue a refund, but only to replace the slices.Not only was the presence of an ant in the pizza a major health concern, but the lack of accountability and empathy from the owner was utterly disappointing. It's disheartening to witness such disregard for customer satisfaction, especially when the sign outside proudly boasts "Under New Management." If this is the level of service provided under the supposed "new management," I shudder to think what it was like before.Needless to say, my classmates and I will no longer be patrons of San Remo Pizza. No one should have to endure such poor customer service and blatant disregard for hygiene standards. I urge others to think twice before supporting an establishment that prioritizes profit over the well-being and satisfaction of its customers.
