Got a chance to stop in at Designer Dawgs in Clinton, NJ a few days ago. When checking out a new spot I usually try to order a dog “all the way” which is chili, onion, and spicy mustard. Here they call that the “Rt 31 South”. I will say right out of the gate that it was a $7.95 hot dog so I was nervous. The woman who owned the spot was very friendly and helpful.This was a naturally cased dog that she pulled from the water and tossed onto the flattop to finish. I enjoyed the flavor and snap from the dog. This was a big one, it came on a small hoagie roll instead of a hot dog bun and with the chili it filled it out. I’d guess a plain dog here would be small in that roll. The chili had good flavor and consistency but was different than what I’m used to, it had a zing to it…maybe some vinegar, I couldn’t tell. I enjoyed it though.The dog was served with popcorn and it was in a dog bowl so I thought that was cool. There was no indoor seating but there was a nice little courtyard out back where I ate. Fun decorations and trinkets inside.For this dog and a can of soda it was $9 and change. I felt like it was a bit steep, but I didn’t leave feeling upset about the purchase. I honestly love everything. I never ever saw a hot dog restaurant with so many differentHot dogs!!! Soooo many to choose from my all time favorite is the Vermonter. And the owner is the sweetest and so fun to talk to!

Stopping at Designer Dawgs is a must!The selection is vast and the Dawgz are top notch! My favorite is the German Dawg!Also do not pass up the Pierogis!!Amazing quality and service! I don’t get Hot Dogs anywhere else now.They even have a food truck for events!

Their hot dogs are so good!! They have many options to choose from, but I personally love the Sinatra. It has onions, sauerkraut and spicy mustard on it. The buns they use are excellent too! I also like that they give you some popcorn on the side.
Vegetarian options: They have veggie hot dogs as an option! They are great.
My sister tuna (or tuba lmao) loves these hot diggity dogs! Every time I visit her in Clinton she says “let’s get a diggity dawg!” And the service is incredible my brother in law Leo said it’s an amazing place for vibes after work. Such a cute spot! They have gluten free options! You can get the hot dog of your choice wrapped in a corn tortilla. Baked beans are also delicious! Has lots of seating out in the back. Parking can be limited as it's all street parking.
