for 17-18$ u get something that I cant even call a brisket Sandwich, almost no meat. Not coming back

What’s just as much The Real Deal as in - the best barbecue in Hunterdon county and beyond? The staff and crew at The Real Deal are just as sweet and amazing as their top notch food. Kevin and crew are the sweetest. They’ve catered several medium to large sized events for us, and I always order extra so I have “leftovers” and i hide my “extras” away from guests because no matter how much I order, every. Single. Dish. Is wiped clean, and gone.
Their BBQ pulled pork, brisket, Cole slaw, cornbread, Mac and cheese, baked beans, and their sauces they sell retail wise are just above and beyond.
Thank you, Kevin and crew, for this absolute gem of delicious genuine BBQ every weekend. We love you guys so so much!

Hit or miss. Ribs chewy cartlage rock hard not fall off the bone meat. They move lots of ribs but the quality control is lacking. Need a sharp knife or strong teeth to get that meat off

Service was unfriendly to a point where it felt like we were annoying them with our business. Ordered what they call a brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. Meat was cold and way too much sauce. Sizes are more like sliders. $29 for tiny sandwiches with no sides is ridiculous. Won’t ever go back.

I've driven past this location multiple times, smells good and looks good. My rating would probably be higher if we arrived earlier (we got here around 2:30pm). My wife enjoyed the Jerked Chicken Thighs and Mac and Cheese, however, I tried the Brisket was kinda meh and it was a sandwich....I didn't know my meal was a sandwich with two sides. I asked for Baked Beans and got Cole Slaw, no corn bread, no potato salad.
I love the atmosphere but this place appears to be get there early before everything sells out which I understand completely. Prices are fair but wish they would have informed me of the change in side of Cole Slaw to Baked Beans instead of the TAH DAH here you go. Im about 40 minutes from here when I attend meetings but wouldn't drive for this unless in the vicinity.

This is my second visit to Real Deal BBQ, and for $17.00 jerk chicken meal the pieces of chicken were really small and the mac & cheese tasted like it was from the box not that homemade taste that I first experienced on my first visit. Really disappointed 😞. Not sure if I'll return 😕
I ordered the Brisket “meal”, which is a sandwich and two sides. The food was just okay. For $18 I’d like to have walked away at least feeling full, which sadly I didn’t. In my opinion the price doesn’t justify the quality or portion sizes you receive.

After driving by several times, was very excited to try this spot out. Pretty underwhelming overall. Brisket was very bland, possibly overcooked, and sadly, among the worst I’ve ever had. Mac & Cheese and Potato salad were fine.

This was my second visit. The first visit was mediocre food and great service so I wanted to try again. The jerk chicken is not spicy but has kick. They slather it in BBQ sauce so it's not authentic jerk chicken. The sauce is not bad but lacks depth. This time I believe my chicken was under cooked. I know what smoke ring is and this was not that. The mac n chesse is not bad. It does have a cheese taste but lacks seasoning. It is similar to velveta mac n cheese than homestyle baked mac n cheese. The cole slaw was not cold so that changed the flavor but it was not bad. The customer sevice is top notch. Everyone is super friendly. They offered to refund/exchange my chicken which I did for brisket. I got mine without sauce. The meat is tender. It is juicy but lacks flavor. I love the outdoor seating. The lemonade was good and it came without ice and was cold. Overall the service was amazing. I wish the food was comparable. Definitely visit and try for yourself.
