I LOVE this place, they’ve been feeding us for years. Fresh, fresh food, expertly served. A delight!

Ordered a burger and a po boy sandwich. We watched the guys cooking things furiously (grill right behind the counter we were sitting at). It took about 35 minutes for the food to get to us, and my burger sat in the window for almost 15 minutes. I talked to both the waitress (told her I knew it wasn't her fault), and the manager. Manager said "that's just how Sundays are. It takes about 30-35 minutes." when I told him that I saw my food sit on the window for 15 minutes, he talked to me about how they've been doing this for 46 years, mentioned that I could see how hard the cooks were working, etc.. I told him that I saw the burger sitting in the window for almost 15 minutes, and he said "Was the other sandwich ready? We don't want to only send one of them out" I mentioned that it was not, but asked why mine sat there for so long, and then that they both say together in the window for almost 5 minutes. I also mentioned I've eaten there before, never had that experience, that I worked in restaurants for a few years previously, and he's like "oh, so you know how it is, then." I told him I don't want the food (we never even touched it), he acknowledged that he would void the check, and we left and went somewhere else.
I don't know how I expected to have that handled, but that was just the wrong way to go about it. I've never gone into a restaurant to eat, had food put in front of me, and then left without taking a single bite.
We went to the Washington, NJ diner instead. It was packed. We had finished our food (burger and chicken sandwich) and paid less than 30 minutes after we entered.
Clinton Towne Restaurant needs to relearn how food is prepared because their 46 years of service have made them complacent and given them bad habits. The waitresses were apologizing to other tables for the wait also.

Great local family owned restaurant. I come here regularly for breakfast and lunch. They always have delicious homemade soups.

Most people see diners and get melancholy for the same bland and boring food, but that is where I will challenge you. Today, I was served the most flavorful dishes from any diner I have been to in my life. I will admit it was a very pleasant surprise and a very wholesome experience. The portion sizes were nice, they didnt overload the plates to make up for poor flavor, nor was it so exquisite that you had a simple morsel. All in all, the food was very well done showing both love of the food and the love of serving. As for the atmosphere, nothing too complex but nothing too simple, it showed a small piece of history from Clinton allowing for immersion and a peaceful environment. The waitress we had was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu as well as quick and precise with our requests!
All in all this restaurant has been put on my "visit again very soon" list. Such a pleasant experience and I'm excited for my next meal here.

Ordered eggs Benedict for takeout and ate it cold but was still pretty good so I’d imagine it’s pretty baller when hot. Did stick around to see the atmosphere so that’s why it’s lower but place seemed packed with a usual diner look. Another one of Clintons random ass treasures.

My girlfriend asked for vegetarian food and the server brought her a Lox bagel. This was ridiculous and her response was that it was fish not meat.

Veggie burger was really good. They let you make dress it up like any of the burgers on the menu. I had the Acropolis which was an amazing choice. Towne was recommended to us by the ladies at the Red Mill museum, so shout out to them! Excellent choice.
