Colts Neck Gen Store & Deli

It took 40 minutes for a very basic chicken sandwich. The place was empty.

After a long wedding weekend, I finally found a breakfast sandwich that hit the spot!

Food: my wife and I both got BECs but I really enjoyed the volume of food and how actually delicious it was. I always do mine with chipotle/spicy mayo and the mayo actually had significantly flavor to it.

Service: everyone from the food counter to the front was so nice! It was such a pleasant experience.

Ambiance: this is one of the cutest general stores I’ve seen in NJ. Perfect during the fall and I love the separation between store and restaurant.

The place is comfy and feels like a local spot to be, but my only complaint is the foods not terrible just didn't feel wowed or fed a large portion (I'd prefer quality over quantity) but for the cost it feels a little lacking.

Probably need to give this one another shot, atmosphere was great but for the prices the value just wasn’t there. Ordered a BEC wrap with a drink and small chunk of banana bread almost $20. Food was fine but wrap was incredibly small, again value wasn’t there compared to other local spots…

They have a huge menu so it may be worth it to get something of bigger portion and see how it goes. They also have a lot of other items such as jellies and salsas available for sale which was cool.

One of the best deli’s in the area, definitely the best in Colts Neck. Food is fantastic! and the nostalgic dining room is the perfect place to enjoy it! Highly recommend if you’ve never been! And if you have been, I highly recommend going back!

First of all I love the Store and decorum and how the owner keeps it nostalgic. The food is also top notch. However there are some things the occur repeatedly and are hard to ignore.First: if they run out of coffee and it’s an hour or less to closing time, they will not make more coffee and they have no problem letting you know it.Second: Most of the people who work here are miserable and one in particular is borderline rude. She actually makes us feel terrible just because we’re placing an order and she seems so miserable as she’s taking it.Awful customer service. I try very hard to give people the benefit of the doubt not knowing anyone’s personal situation however this behavior is consistent and if not for my love of the food and nostalgia I would never come back.Updated review: I returned to the store yesterday and I have to say there were noticeable differences. Food was on point as usual, plenty of Coffee after 1pm and everyone working on this Sunday were extremely pleasant. I still have not come back on a Friday to see if anything has changed with the young lady who takes orders .

This is one of my favorite spots ever! The food is delicious and generous . I have grown up going to this place and it’s has evolved into a staple for me for a great place to eat and feel like you’re getting a home cooked meal.

Unbelievable. I sent my 10 year old daughter into the store today. She asked the clerk politely where is the bathroom and the clerk said, "Sorry, it's for customers only." How is she going to assume that we are not customers and tell a child "No"?? My daughter came out to the truck upset, telling me that she wasn't allowed to use the bathroom. I then called the store and asked if she really just told a 10 year old girl that she couldn't use the bathroom. The clerk replied that she has had damage from people using the bathroom. "WHAT?!" I said. So, 1 you are firstly assuming that we are not customers 2 you are telling a 10 year old girl that she cannot use the bathroom, and 3. you are suggesting that my 10 year old girl is going to vandalize your bathroom? Seriously???Very poor judgment you just lost any future business with us and left a lasting impression.
