Great place for a good meal! Loved the catfish and brisket was a little dry but, overall well done! Wanted to try the Pit Master Chili but, it was sold out. Mostly for a good reason because it’s delicious!

Only place I go to eat when I’m down here. Brisket is always amazing, sides are great and the customer service is awesome. Only thing to look forward to when coming to Cookstown is LOCAL SMOKE!

Stopped in for lunch and the house was full of Soldiers and Airmen. Clearly a local favorite. Yes they offer a military discount. I had the good fortune of trying brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, chili, and roasted brussel sprouts. Literally everything was great. Just order the food at the counter and pay then they deliver it to your table. Clean efficient and again so worth the price even without a discount. I would definitely go here again.

Since Local Smoke BBQ in Cookstown went to a la carte menu… lunch is no longer affordable… average price is now $23-$28 …when they had combination platters they were a good value…I think it’s not a popular business model as you can tell their lunch business has dropped… especially being right outside of McGuire Ft.Dix… there are a lot more places where you can get lunch under $20…

I paid $32 for 2 turkey sandwiches. They came with nothing. Last time I ordered this sandwich it was warm. This time it's straight out of the refrigerator cold...not room temp but actually chilly cold. It was bomb the 1st time I ordered it and almost justified the crazy price, this time it was depressing and I feel robbed. I'm just never coming here again the price and inconsistency has chased a 10 year customer away. Straight greed.

Super good, delicious food. The atmosphere is authentic, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Have rarely eaten so well.

The atmosphere has a local hometown feeling. The staff is friendly, and the food portions are good as well. The only problem is the biggest issue. I have a traveled across the country and to some destinations overseas as well, and tasted bar-b-que from each of them. Unfortunately this place lands on the bottom of the list. To some, it may be ok at best, but definitely not somewhere I'll revisit.

I recently visited this restaurant, and I can see why it's a local favorite! The food was delicious—perfectly smoked, tender meats with rich, flavorful sauces. The sides were equally impressive, making it a complete meal to savor. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The warm, inviting atmosphere made the experience even better.

I ordered 1 grilled chicken sandwich with bacon n cheddar cheese and it cost me $23.47 cents, no drink ,no chips ,no fries just a grilled chicken sandwich. Extremely overpriced and get nothing for your money. The food is really good but the prices are ridiculous especially for a grilled chicken sandwich. Very disappointed overall with the price gouging regardless of the economy. It's grilled chicken not brisket or ribs
