Directly in front of you on the beach has limited swimming due to rip current and rocks... So you need to go down and to the right a substantial amount before swimming so be2lware if you want to keep an eye on kids that they'll be out of eyesight.

Great, wide beach, and terrific facilities. Big pavilion with locker rooms, restrooms, and a concession stand. Plenty of tables for eating, too.
Very nice place for a day trip to a big beach. Only one complaint--all the showers are cold. Also, there is some food available for purchase, but not much.

The Conover beach is well maintained, family friendly with a pleasant, accommodating staff. Plenty of parking. One very nice feature is a partially enclosed deck just by the entrance to the beach as you walk in. It is a shady spot with tables and chairs for enjoying a snack or getting out of the sun for a bit.Really like it here.
